I picked up an older Schuler but it has a rattle in the butt. Who do you think I should have fix it?
It is probably the weight system. It is interesting the way they do it. Just take a screw driver and loosen the screw and the bumper will slide out with the weight system attached.
Make sure it is assembled correctly. Just look at it and see that as you tighten the screw it spreads the rubber rings that hold it in the cue. Sometimes someone will have takes it out and put it back together wrong and it won't tighten. It's not an IQ test, you will see how it works once you look at it. Put it back in and tighten the screw. When you take it out it will stay together don't be afraid. In almost every case with the Schulers making noise that is the problem. You can also change the weight if you like.
I tried but no go. Even with all the weights out there is a rattle inside the butt. I have another Schuler and there is no similar sound. the guy I bought it from had taken it to Schuler a few years back but did not want to pay to get it fixed.
Anybody know who could fix it?
Uh...maybe Miss Schuler's proctologist?I picked up an older Schuler but it has a rattle in the butt. Who do you think I should have fix it?
Terry and his son (Mark?) play out of Hammer Heads in Dundee, where Mark (?) does some cue repair. If you need to, you can contact them there.
Mr H
Is he known to do work on Schulers?how bout Tim Prince? ( Chicago west burbs )
Who are these guys? Do they do work on Schulers? Thanks.
I have an old Schuler that is having a similar problem. I haven't tried removing and inspecting the weight system yet, I'm going to try that today, but as far as I can tell the rattle is coming from around where the forearm meets the handle. I read somewhere that Ray Schuler had some special secret proprietary way of joining those two pieces. As far as the weight system goes, anybody know what tools I'm going to need once I get in there?
I'm sitting out this session but I probably will be there Monday playing Latimer. You beating up on anybody at the shoe? Carter has been coming up to milwaukee to play with Greg, but he's not getting anywhere. Are you playing in leagues next monday night? I may come up, Scott
