repairing warped cue?

of a cue is slightly warped at the "A" joint is it repairable? what would it cost and what would the turn around on something like that be?

Great question as I have a 3 cushion cue that suffers from the same issue. Looking forward to the answers..

i'm just curious. none of my cues are warped. i just figured it'd be nice to know in case i ever ran into a cue that was warped but still played well how much it would be to fix it

The problem is is very easy to correct for any experienced Cue repairman or Cue maker. However, it is also a great deal of work and I always recommend that the cue be refinished as part of the job. I charge $120 for a refinish including a Linen Wrap, plus I would charge an additional $55 to either sleeve or replace the cues handle. Normally the turn around time on a repair like this is around one week depending upon my current work load. At this point in time, I could not except any additional work with what I have for six months.

Keep in mind that different cue makers and cue repairman have different rates for these repairs, and these can vary greatly from region to region. So the best I can do is give an estimate of the required time, and the cost.

You are looking at something in the $200-$275 from almost anybody....and the job almost always requires a complete refinish. If it's a nice, valuable custom, I would recommend it go back to the original maker if possible. If that's not possible/practical, I would highly recommend Andy Gilbert. He's the absolute best in the biz at this type of work !!!!!!!!!!!!
 
I do this kind of work all the time. You are looking around $250 to $400 depending on the amount of labor. This includes a complete refinish and new wrap. Turnaround is 6-8 weeks because the new handle needs to be turned in small increments or else you will be in the same situation in a year or two.

wow. it sounds like it's more work than it's worth
 
Not really. It just depends on the value of the cue. I'll be posting some pics of a Runde era Schon once I get it farther along.
