XBreaker replacement part needed!

I recently received a beautiful Golden Oak colored (?) XBreaker with a black leather wrap as a gift. This is the new model with the concave tip and no metal rings. The white Maximizer rubber-like bumper with the XBreaker logo fell apart. I would like to purchase a replacement Maximizer bumper and I don't care if it's white or black.
Does anyone have one for sale?

Thanks,
Rip

Tanner,
I emailed Richard photos of the disentegrated bumper and I asked if I could buy the replacement. I wasn't expecting anything for free. It seems he'd be more than willing to sell the part especially since it's where his logo is placed on his product.
I'll just say customer service skills were absent in this case and I'm very disappointed.
Thanks,
Rip

That's odd. Ive seen him go above and beyond the call of duty for customers on this board many times.

Might have been a broken link in the communication chain. Id try again.

Interesting thread

You're good.

Brand new and falling apart? Sounds like a quality issue. You would think that the maker or seller would have a return or warranty policy to repair or replace it. Not good PR or endorsement for their product.

I got burned on a cue that was recommended by and purchased from Billiards Warehouse. The threads in a wood joint stripped out. Was told too bad. Yes it is too bad because I have not purchased anything from him since. I now have a expensive fire poker. He lost not only my business but also my recommendation.

Good luck.

XBreaker replacement part needed!

Hi Sore,
I agree that it seems out of character. I had purchased one of his first version XBreakers before the Maximizer was released. He sold me a Maximizer when they became available.
When I received the newer version XBreaker as a birthday gift from a family member, the shaft did not have the concave tip or the black pad under the tip. I contacted Richard and he was nice enought to sell me the newer version shaft that belonged with my newer version XBreaker. Keep in mind I paid for everything and I never suggested or hinted that I expected something for free or under warranty.

yeah, thats a shame cause that cue is very expensive. so if it fell apart, there should be no reason why it shouldnt be replaced. its a shame.

In all fairness to the manufacturer, the cue isn't falling apart. In fact, the fit and finish is superior to the earlier model. Everything appeared to be in perfect condition when I rec'd the cue purchased for me by my daughter from a second party. The bumper appears to have been sheared in two by a hard and sharp plastic like ring inside of the bumper. I don't know if it had a slight tear in the part when I rec'd it or if the part could have been snagged by one of the spring loaded cases I sometimes carry, or if it was actually defective. Blame isn't the issue for me. I simply want to BUY a replacement bumper.

Thanks,
Rip

I don't think he supports people who buy his cues second hand, here's a quote from a previous thread:

I would like to take this opportunity to make sure everyone understands that we will only offer warranty and support to original owners of X Breakers purchased from our authorized dealers.

My authorized dealers are:

In the US, Billiards911.com, Joe Neilsen, Tiger Planet Tour, and Charlie Bryant

I know this doesn't help your situation, but at least you know they won't support the second hand cue market. Maybe one of his 4 dealers can offer some better support.

Sorry, but I hope this helps a little anway,

Jim

Hi Jim,
The odd thing is I haven't asked for or expected anything under warranty. It's like owning a car that is out of warranty. The dealership wouldn't refuse to sell you a replacement part just because your car is no longer covered by warranty would they? Heck no! They would charge you full price for the part you need and send you on your way a satisfied customer. Do they care that you weren't the original owner? Another heck no!

I fully expect to pay and am willing to pay for whatever I need. If I was the manufacturer, I wouldn't want one of my XBreakers in pool halls without my logo on it, much less, looking like it's defective. People frequently ask to see what I'm playing with, jumping or breaking with. When they look at the ragged looking bumper hanging out of this XBreaker they sort of shake their head and get that "what in the hell is that" kind of look on their face.

I just want Richard to take more of my money! I'll gladly pay for the Maximizer bumper, the packing material, tape and box plus postage/shipping from Canada to Nevada and buy Richard six of his favorite drinks at the DCC in January. What is my total price Richard?

Ask Joe Nielson of Nielson's billiards, I think he can get it for you. At least he will respond quickly as he is a member of this forum.

That's a great idea! I'll give Joe a call today. Coincidentally I'm expectiing a delivery from Joe today and have been doing business with him for years. He has always provided top notch customer service and is a pleasure to do business with. I'm not sure if he'll have a replacement bumper for sale but it's worth a try since the XBreaker "manufacturer" will not allow me to buy a part for his product.

In today's economy the ability to deliver a high level of customer service on a consistent basis is more important than ever. That means not having lapses of throwing temper tantrums, insulting the customer or otherwise having a "meltdown" because you're having a bad day.

Rip~still needing to BUY a part for my XBreaker

The world can rest a little better tonight knowing that Joe Nielsen at Neilsen's Billiards pulled through again and was able to sell me the rubber bumper to replace the one that disentegrated on my XBreaker.

Now does anyone want to buy an XBreaker shaft with a cracked tip and cracked ferrule? I have one for sale or trade. Other than the cracked tip and ferrule it's in wonderful condition! PM all offers.
Thanks,
Rip
