I don't see shots that way. I honestly don't even think about angles in that way. My one roadmap is the line from the OB to the pocket, and that gives me all the information I know. To set myself up for the next shot, the CB should be on the opposite side of the OB line that my CB destination is. Then depending on the distance the CB has to travel will determine how thin or thick I want to hit the OB. Otherwise, I'll have to force the CB to the next position, and it's usually when I try to stroke the CB that I get the pocket jiggles.

That's how Ive done it for years. Still do, but wanted an easier, less time consuming way for newer players to learn the skill of pocketing balls. Then they can focus on CB control/shapes.

That's fine, and I do believe your system and Stan's are valid (and I will buy yours and Stan's book when Stan's comes out because I am a collector of knowledge), but my response was to GoldenFlash's about the half-ball hit, loving it when it comes up. My whole point was that I don't wait for certain shots to come up, I create the shots I want to hit when I'm on the table. Now sure, you may come back to the table and you're opponent left you tough, but the object then is to right the ship, not calculate angles.

What's funny is that I've never paid attention to angles until I came up with a method that showed exactly what fractional aim is needed. Then I'd find myself simply doublechecking my shots as I played (compare my instinct to the fractional aim point) and was surprised how often 1/2 ball shots come up. I never noticed it before.
