Thanks for reading. Sorry about the typos etc. I'm a self taught typer. Scary:eek:.

Again this was only possible because Gary & Kevin provide free Wi-Fi at G-Cues. All pool halls that have tournaments should follow!

Thanks again!

Ray

I agree! Magoo's in Tulsa has wi-fi and it was awesome. I was so excited when I found out G Cue had wi-fi. :)

It sure helped with updating the brackets. ;)

According to the Main Page, Silver is the new Texas State 9-Ball Champion! :)

Yes he is and the Proudest and happiest one I've witnessed yet.

To be honest, at 2:30 am, the finals were a little rough for both players. Sylver played with great determination and made some awsome shots.

Rafael has been a legend pretty much since he began playing, but the late hour obviously worked against him. He is a Soldier though and acted as if he had "Been there before". He is stil, a great player.

The finals were about who has been great and what is coming.

Melinda and Bigtruck, thank you from the bottom of my heart. You guys are just great and I appreciate all the help this weekend. You two are so very good for the game.

I played Sylver like around 3 weeks ago at Fast Eddies.

As much as I tried to give him a decent safety, he would just kick the shot and make a ball without effort applied.

And to make things even worse, I played him 8-ball (LAST POCKET). Now 8-ball is usually my strong game, but he just ran me out like if it were his balls and made the 8 on his designated last pocket.

Mind you, I am a C+ (B at times) player and right throughout the whole time I played him, I was
a) about to blow chunks
and b) thought those times I had a face-to-face with Sylver were a complete dream (but mind you it was real)

All I got to say is: Becareful, world, you got a new champion on the look out and he's ready to rumble! And this man is Sylver Ochoa.

Mike's play really impressed me... What really impressed me, is, What a class guy. If I heard it once, I heard it a hundred times this weekend. We were lucky to have him.

Ironman,

First of all, I am glad that you and Paul made it home safe! I know it was REALLY late when all was said and done!

I totally agree with you on your comment about Mike. He is a true gentleman in this game. He is a great ambassador for Pool AND THEN SOME!!! I know he made a lot of new friends there and he really enjoyed it. I hope that I can convince him to come next year too!!! :D We'll see!!

Love ya babe!

You two need to get a room! LOL

I know. I know. It would be like kissing your sister.

Manders, There are not many pool players that impress me very often, but this weekend, I met one in Mike Davis. That man carries himself with dignity on and off the table. The sport could use a lot more like him.
