Brain on 4 cylinders.....might be 5 though...

it is tough to play in marathon matches all weekend and also to be roving reporter - you should be tired :p

davis/gutierrez
owen/waiting on jones or stanley

and the winners side martinez/ochoa

crazy ending to this event so far. saw so many you wouldn't expect to go far make it and others that you would expect ran out of steam or hit brick walls along the way. wish i would have made the trek now.

here is the latest if anyone is still up:

Mike Davis vs. David Gutierrez - Davis wins 9-4

Rick Stanley vs. Jeremy Jones - Jones wins 9-6

Gabe Owen vs. Jeremy Jones - Owen wins 9-8

Gabe Owen is playing Mike Davis right now

Rafael Martinez is playing Sylver Ochoa for the hot seat

Still Up

Thank You, 9ballvr, for the update. Seems even I have to go to work in the morning so I will check and see how Mike does in the morning. At least I know he is in the final 4. Mike Sr.

i knew he would trek through these guys - he is quite a grinder that one :D hope he takes the whole thing!

sylver ochoa took the hot seat by beating rafael martinez 9-4.

that leaves the Davis/Owen match and the winner plays Martinez to get into the finals.

just checked in with G Cue in Austin and the battle rages on. the fourth place spot went to Mike Davis - he lost to Gabe Owen on the hill (final score 9-8). Owen is playing Martinez as I write, the winner moves on to the finals to play Ochoa. these guys must be wiped out - both the players and the tournament folks!

Are you in Texas, or are you reporting from Maryland? Either way, thanks for the updates for those of us up before the crack of dawn! :p

Where do you hail from in Maryland? :)

There's -- I think -- an hour difference between my time and Texas time.

This tournament sure did run late.

Three men left standing -- Silver, Gabe, and Rafael.

If I had to pick one to win the whole shebang, it would be a toughie.

That was a very tough field of players. All three of them are winners for lasting this long. :)

Texas is central time, one hour behind eastern. so, it is almost 3 am there and they are still fighting it out with a couple/few hours to go yet. i don't think i will see the end, but Mike Howerton is following up on scores for the brackets.

Geezy peezy, poor Mike. At least he's a couple hours before our time. But he's got kiddies to get to school this week. I think school begins today in most jurisdictions.

Thanks again for the updates and the PM. Don't forget to check out the Amish market on Route 29! :p

Also, according the the Main Page, Sylver needs a haircut! Looks like he could fly back to McAllen with those wings!;)

On the front page, they have a link to the payouts for the Open division, but they didn't see fit to post the payouts for the ladies division.
Does anyone know the payouts for the ladies and could you post them?

Here ya go

Here they are Rich, they were a little buried, but they are on the ladies section.

Ladies Payouts

Payouts..

The main page only listed the tournament money, nothing from the players meeting fund. It is listed that way at the discretion of the tournament directors and host owners.

I had a blast! One of my favorite events! The staff was great.

Congrats to Sylver! The last man standing. He's a great player and a real gentleman.

Thank You!

Thanks to all who gave us updates during the event:)

Thanks for reading. Sorry about the typos etc. I'm a self taught typer. Scary:eek:.

Again this was only possible because Gary & Kevin provide free Wi-Fi at G-Cues. All pool halls that have tournaments should follow!

Thanks again!
