Restructuring Pool on a National Level

I think the best way to do it, specially for this event since you are basically already doing it. Is to seed the tournament until everyone is in the cash.

So you had everyone qualify in there respective divisions, so have the pre-money portion of the tournament run the same way (specially since you have the same amount of people in each division already) as your qaulifiers. So have all the A's play each other and B's etc etc until everyone has cashed. So you will basically have something like 6 undefeated (2 from each class) and 10 - 12 in the one losse side (3 or 4 from each class) then you redraw and mix everyone up. This way everyone is playing the same level of people to get to the money.

I think this is a very fair way of going about it. Everyone has a shot at the money and you will not be class heavy in the money. You will have the same number of people cashing from each division. What level of money from then on out is based off your play against everyone from that point on

Well , seems to me , based on the models I see in other sports , you have it backwards . The majors support the minors , not vice-versa . Maybe the A+ players should pay $20 entry fees , with $12 going toward their prize pool , and $3 kicking down to the B's and $3 kicking down to the C's , with $2 being donated to a Boys&Girls Club billiards education fund , providing them with tables & equipment.
MLB supports AAA & A farm clubs , plus makes huge contributions to Little League . Hmmmm...

As a former pool room owner and player, not only would I not do this, but I don't think my players would play in something like this. In the final analysis, you have to show every person in an analysis what is in it for them. I can see no reason that a C player would want someone to chop $4 from a pot for any reason. How does it benefit him? The theory that if you want to make more get better is ludicrous for many, many reasons.

You can't solve a "global" problem like this on a local level. Yes in theory it sounds wonderful. But in the end you overlook a couple of little things....power and greed. Just take a stroll down memory lane and all the goings on in the pro world over the last 20 years.

Ummm might want to extend that number a few more decades. :(

I like the idea of no handicap but instead a tiered entrance fee. Players play even but b, c players basically get odds on the money.

Only as an example:
Open player pays 75
A pays 60
b 40
C 30

I like this idea too. That way, there is still a decent prize fund, and the C players can take a shot at the stronger players without having to donate too much.
