Awesome stuff Linda!

Mike and Tim Tweedell. He might have taken 5th/6th with Stan.
Tim looks a lot "larger" than when I last saw him. Mike looks the same as he ever did. He never seems to age. :D

I don't know what Stan was doing!
Stan was just being Stan LOL. What a great guy and what a great player.

Funny you should mention it...

Dan Louie
Mike Zimmerman
JD
Todd Marsh
Tim Tweedell

Might be a pretty good team in Vegas!
I thought BCA was for amateurs ;) That is a team that should scare the crap out of everyone in Vegas.

I haven't heard the name of Verne Peterson for many years. I had one of his cues...wish I never sold it.

Yeah, Tim's packed on a few pounds. Maybe the munchies from the wacky weed? :D He came into City Lights one night stoked out of his mind and offered me the 5 ball before I "got good". He still would have dropped about $400.00 if I hadn't let him go double or nothing on one last game. Important lesson learned: If you get someone down and want to give them a shot at getting their money back on a last game/set, always make sure to keep a little for your time.

Stan is not only a champion, he is truly a great human being. I've never seen him lose his temper or have a cross word for anyone. Never heard anyone say anything bad about him. The only other guy like this I know in the NW is Jeff Jiminez...

With alternates Glenn Atwell and Rich Geiler? Sheesh, as it is, make the match on 7 footers and 8 ball, and I'd put these guys up against any 5 pros you wanna put on a barbox. Mike's won many a tourney with multiple "name" pros in the field. Same with Glenn Atwell. Tim has won a few barbox tourneys with Boucher in the field, I believe.

Timmy is bigger. Married life and cooking I guess, lol.

Mike has had white hair forever. I still prefer to think it's blonde!

Stan...I think he just got done sneezing or something!

All of these folks are 'amateurs'..that is, none are current UPA pros. I suppose an IPTer and a World Champion might qualify as pros but the BCA calls them Grand Masters. (Sounds like a rap group!) I will be their athletic supporter in Vegas. :D

Funny thing, they once had Danny, Mike, Todd, Geiler and I think Bill Cress and called themselves the Dream Team. Danny and Geiler started quarreling about who to put in and they lost. I think this team will be stronger, because they all seem to get along better.

Kenny Dodd & I go back to the 60's when he was Artesia Kenny. He was the first one of the young guys to "go on the road' and robbed us at Verne Peterson's Billiard Palace in Bellflower when he got back. I see in the results of the pool mag he still hits them pretty good. John Henderson

Artesia Kenny, that is funny. I will have to rib him next time I see him! He is still married to Janice, who has a penchant for the card tables!

Ah I finished 9th-12th. I showed up Sunday but my game didn't. I lost 6-4 to Schumacher having gave away 4 games (1/2" hook on the 8ball, two poor safes leading to the one shot he could have had, and just a terrible miss on my part on an easy table).

Then Ivan Doty ran over me 6-3. Was up 3-1 then came up empty on the break. He ran my break followed by two break and runs to get up 4-3. Then a silly miss by me and he ran that and got out in the last rack to seal it.

Frustrating cause had I not blown up vs Pat I would have been guaranteed 5/6.

But there is always a silver lining as I had Glenn Atwell in the Calcutta...should be good for about $150 or so I think. :D :D

Tell Mike congrats. He definitely took advantage of some timely mistakes on two hill hill games by Eddie Corrido (sp?) and Stan. He is great to watch, very passionate and critical about his own play but at the same time can make light of it.

It was a good warmup. Definitely know I have to practice solid for the next two weeks leading up to Lincoln City.

WOW, Mike is getting better with age. That was a strong field he overcame. I'm impressed. Are you coming to Reno this week? It should be a good one. Mike belongs in events like the U.S. Bar Table.

Aretesia Kenny used to stop in my poolroom in Bakersfield in the 70's, and we played Banks as high as $75 a game (a big bet back then). He was on the road going North or South. Ask him if he remembers our after hours battles?

The last time I saw Pat, he was giving John Campbell the 7 on a barbox in the Halftime Tavern in Portland. John stood no chance. He wanted to play Pat on a 9 footer, and Pat was more than happy to accommodate. John tended to woof at the wrong people. He came down to City Lights in Tacoma for the tournament one time and was watching me play, and started woofing at me. I was getting in stroke for the tournament and turned him down. I ended up playing him in the tourney, and he got a few lucky racks on me to go up 3-0, and I reeled him back in to win 7-4. John tended to over spin the cue ball. I see on www.onthebreaknews.com that he still plays. How's he hitting them? Has he improved? He was in his 30's back when I played him.

Half Time Tavern is in Hazel Dell (Vancouver, WA). Saw Pat there last night.;)

Yeah, she had me betting high when I hit my full house on the river...little did I know SHE FLOPPED THE STRAIGHT FLUSH!!

Stan wasn't getting any cards. He and I sat together while I was recovering my entry fees and a little extra:rolleyes:

Well, when I got to watch a little of your matches, you were playing sporty. Good luck in LC! It was very nice to finally meet you. :)

Yes, Mike says he is liking 8 ball now, lol. No we won't be in Reno, and I do agree that he belongs in the bigger tournaments. He says that there are dozens of people at those tournaments that play just like him or better, the mouse! :p

He and Glenn kicked around the idea of going together, but found out there was 3 feet of snow, so they did not want to do the drive and flying was not worth it.

Micah or Todd probably has a better chance of asking Kenny since they live down there, but if they don't I will ask him next time I see him. Mike says he remembers those days in L.A. with him and Cole and Kenny in the poolroom.

Kenny Dodd what a flash from the past. I used to play a lot of pool with him 25 or so years ago. What a classic setup he has. Right out of the book. A super nice guy too. I'm glad to see he is still in trenches. The last time I played him he had dark brown hair....LOL

Linda, thanks for posting that picture of Kenny and Pat Schumacher. I haven't seen those two in many years...both gentleman pool players.

Yes, Kenny and the Shu also still hits 'em good!!

Glenn looks like he is the player rep for NORML.

I didn't know what NORML was, so I had to look it up, LOL. I made him laugh for both those pictures and I have been supplying him with my Kangen water which can be a mood elevator. He says he felt the effects right away after drinking it, that he had more energy. Anyway, Glenn is one player that is always on the natural. :)
