Review: Last 4 Ever Tip Tool

While I was never the best player in any Pool Hall I frequented, I did have the reputation of having just about every Tip Tool ever made, and knowing how to use them. I think one Pool Room owner would stock some Tip Tools simply because he knew I would buy them. It wasn't uncommon that I would buy a few, and off of my endorsement, others would buy them from me. It also isn't uncommon that folks I knew would ask me to freshen up their Tips, which, as long as I wasn't playing, I was always happy to do.

Anyway, I have to share with you how much I love the "Last 4 Ever Tip Tool"
As anyone who works on Tips knows, it's nearly impossible to reshape a Tip with a Nickel radius (or one that's brand new) into one with a Dime radius, especially without shaving down nearly the entire tip. With the Last 4 Ever Tip Tool, that's gone forever. While that's awesome by itself, with the exorbitant prices of today's designer tips, this is especially valuable, and within a few tips, the Last 4 Ever Tip Tool will likely pay for itself in what you save.

The Last 4 Ever Tip Tool is exceptionally well made. The $24.95 price tag may, initially cause a little sticker shock, but if you were able to hold this tool in your hand you'd see that $24.95 is a bargain. Clearly the inventors went all in with design quality and then set a price-point, rather than the other way around. This tool works very well and works quickly. It's ergonomically designed and is comfortable to use. Like so many Tip Tools out there today, this one accomplishes a variety of tip dressing tasks. As if all the above wasn't good enough by itself, the tool comes in an extremely durable plastic case that protects the tool, makes it easy to store in your cue case, and also protects anything else you're carrying around in your cue case pocket.

Here's my rating on the Last 4 Ever Tip Tool (1 - 10):

Design: 10

Quality: 10

Usefulness: 10

Ease Of Use: 10

Price: 07

I purchased mine off of Amazon, who had the best price out of every place I looked.
I received quite the nice little bonus when mine came via UPS, but I can't guarantee you will also https://www.amazon.com/Last4Ever/b/ref=bl_dp_s_web_13557678011?ie=UTF8&node=13557678011&field-lbr_brands_browse-bin=Last4Ever

Again, just another thoughtful, value added, consideration that went into the design & packaging.

Thanks for sharing your review.

I have had this model tip tool in my case for a few years now and I agree wholeheartedly that this is the best of all I've ever tried.

Joel Pope sure knew what he was doing when he came up with this design.

best,

Thanks Steve, great endorsement. I really appreciate it. The model in your photo is the Combo model, personally, I prefer the Dime model as it has a side of the tool dedicated to scuffing the tip without removing any leather. I'll send you one so you can see the difference.

You can also get the tip tool from internet providers such as CueStix, Pool Dawg, Seyberts, Ozone Billiards, Cue & Case and numerous retailers. Internationally, you can get it from www.doubledavecues.com in Europe, Facebook.com/ts.billiards in Taiwan and www.redballstore.com in Indonesia

You can also get it directly from my website at www.last4ever.com with free shipping to all of the US & Canada, and, I will include a free Leather Burnisher that retails for $6.95.

I like your review, but really am shaking my head at the 7 rating at price. This is easily the best tool for the money, so at $24.95, it's a steal IMO. You've already said it's a bargain, so shouldn't the price rating be a 10?

I'm quite happy with mine, Mr Pope....
...but I'm a little suspicious about the name of your product.

First of all, "ever" implies eternity....so how can you have 4 of the damn things?

Have you had a customer attest that it actually lasts forever?

I might eventually be your first witness...'cause like Steven Wright.....
.."I intend to live forever....so far, so good."

However, it's a great product....:clapping:

You are right nothing lasts forever... the name is more of a play on words in that after buying every other tip tool on the market this is "THE LAST TIP TOOL YOU WILL EVER BUY" because you will throw all of the other ones away

Much like the OP, over a 30+ year period I had bought just about every tip tool made and none of them did what I wanted. Thus the birth of the Last4Ever Tip Tool

Very nice review. This will go on my Christmas list as I'm not able to afford it right now.:(

One of the 1st things I forgot to say is this tool allows me to dress the tip, on the spot, in ways that used to require a lathe...which frankly I grew tired of carrying around with me from pool hall to pool hall, LOL. -Z-

Is the same as the last4ever tool?. I've had this for years and it came with both pieces, one to shape and the other to dress the tip.

Like others here I went through a bunch of tip tools never finding one I really liked. Like the OP said a lit of times to get the dime shape I had to take away way too much material. Since I got the Last 4 Ever it's no longer a problem. I ditched all my other shapers. The only thing I'd change if I had it to do over again is get the dime model instead of the combo because I never use the nickel side and would benefit from the scuffer.

Well I ordered 2 of the dimes due to this thread. I do like my ultimate tip tool, so we will see how they compare. I know I'll miss the middle burnisher/mushroom removal on the ultimate.

I will be interested in hearing back from you once you get a chance to use the Last4Ever for a while and get comfortable with the new tool.

Like many others, I used a Ultimate for a while and based on my experience, in addition to shaping and scuffing, you will find the Mushroom Repair & Tip Burnishing functions to be much better on the Last4Ever tool.

The Ultimate Mushroom Repair abrasive is about ¼" x 1" or about .25 square inches and can snap the tip off the cue versus the Last4Ever abrasive which is 1.5 square inches or 600% bigger; the Ultimate Tip Burnisher is ¼" x 1" or about .25 square inches versus the Last4Ever Burnisher which is 1.5 square inches, again, 600% more Burnishing area.

check out the videos on the website https://www.last4ever.com/instructional-videos.html

or on youtube https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GS6Ekdzuuig

You will note that both Dennis Searing and Rodney Morris use the scuffer differently than I show in the demo and I have since become a convert to their method.
