Eagle,
You may want to watch the video Joe Tucker sent in the post below.... He talks about where the balls are supposed to go based on where and how they are broken. I would suggest possibly buying Joe's Racking secrets 1 and 2.... The balls go where physics and the gaps dictate. This is one of the reasons that the Open uses the break box... It's harder but not impossible to make the wing from the box like clockwork....
"The Accu-Rack System" templates are made to take care of the gap issues in short order... The material was chosen to create the same friction and ball path as professional quality cloth.... It's all about a consistent rack with no funny business... Nothing like getting slugged in a match after you have gotten off to a good start...
Excellent point about the break box. Your device PLUS setting up in the break box would probably be ideal.
In another thead a while back, AtLarge posted the "ball on break" stats for all 37 2012 U.S Open matches streamed by Accu-Stats.
Results were BOBs were made 62% of the time. Given that the players were all very speedy then amateurs under the same conditions would have had a much lower BOB percentage.
What I've read about your device, BOBs are made (from the normal spot) a vastly larger percentage of the time...including amateurs. TO ME....
just one man's opinion...that just rigs the game vastly in favor on the higher speed player in a winner breaks format.
I think it was Shannon who was known for giving ANY LEGAL SHOT (after the break) weight to bangers in a winner breaks format and shot their nuts off even with a much lower BOB percentage than results from your device.
To again use a golf analogy (a game that relies on the same physics as any other game) there are (illegal) tees that reduce or eliminate hooks and slices
and balls that go a mile...and driver faces with a TON of "rebound"...also illegal as well they should be.
To ME....and just ME...nearly invisible racking imperfections are part of the game. Racking is a skill and READING racks is a skill.
NOBODY with any racking knowledge (and Joe's videos are EXCELLENT) gets "slugged" and those without the knowledge deserve to get slugged.
But again....GENUINE CONGRATULATIONS for inventing what appears to be an outstanding product (does what it is supposed to do).
And if it were used from the break box...or maybe even for league play and/or alternate break formats, I'm sure it's GREAT!
ALL this coming from an "old school traditionalist" by the way.
