Some of you guys are asking very stupid questions, like the balance point and the weight without a bolt?

What?

What's the perfect balance point for you to pull the trigger and buy a cue?

Are you telling me that you cannot get a weight bolt that is precisely your weight made or cut to be the right weight in your own town?

I mean, it may cost you like $10 at most to get the weight of a cue changed..........

I guess there are tire kickers everywhere.

I think you are just talking to talk. Here is why.
1. Balance. It does matter because some cues have forward balance, some have balance towards the back and some somewhere in the middle. So, if someone is used to or likes forward balanced cue, he is not going to be happy with the cue balanced towards the back. And vise versa.
And yes, if i am spending more than $500 on a cue, i would want to get something that i can comfortably play with and not waste the $$$.
2. Weight bolt. Adding or removing weight also changes the balance of the cue. Lighter bolt will change balance more forward and naturally heavier bolt will move balance towards the back.
So, by adding removing weight, you are also changing the balance. But i am sure you knew all that, just did not think about it from this point of view.
And again, if someone is paying good money for a cue, do not you think they should get something they like, without having to run around and pay to have something changed?
So, yes, "there are tire kickers everywhere".

My point is that people are not going to buy based on the answers to these questions. They are just kicking tires.
