The one stainless collar is a Layani, so it's not of the standard SS joint. I don't know if Layanis come with other collar material.
The other metal collar is a Schuler and is actually aluminum.
I've owned a few cues with SS collars. Five or six, I think. All mass-produced cues. I don't know if it's just a matter of trust, a matter of habit, or maybe I really don't like SS collars. I never thought I didn't. I think I must have started out with them, and when I started getting other cues, I went away from them just because.

Then again, I did start designing my fancy Skip four or five years before I had the burl one made. I guess it's one of those chicken and egg questions that will never be answered!

At the height I wanted to get at... the lights were in the way. LOL!!
This camera has a panoramic mode, so maybe that's what I'll do next time... outdoors.

I hope people realize that your comments are not all jokes and more then tongue in cheek, I hope my words have challenged others to be creative and I hope when you get the Jim White cue the proof will be in the end result.
