River of wood?

OK, I did a poor job of keeping records of my wood. So, I decided to pull it all out and organize it. I was amazed at how much wood there was. I have only been stockpiling it for about two years now.

Do I qualify for a river of wood yet? :D:D:D

River?

That's a puddle.:)

Seriously, get back to us when you have enough to build a house,
ok, maybe a garage.

Hi Neil. Good start, but if you don't have another table full of curly maple and another of ebony, you have some orders to place. :D

That is why it is a river and not a lake! Always adding! You are right, I need more ebony and maple. Just looking for good deals if you know if any. Thanks for the comments guys.

Maybe a faucet drip. LOL J/K. It has to start somewhere & that's what you got, a start. You'll know when you have a good stock of wood when you go to the suppliers in person and realize you have more wood than they have.

Take a look at this thread and you'll start to get an idea of what "river of wood" means. Pictures start on Page 2.

No ... "river of wood" is a concept not the piece count or type.

It is new wood being added as old seasoned wood is used.
An ever flowing stock.
Their may be many years between each end of the process.

It is not the amount but rather the actual flow in and out that qualifies a "river of wood".

I like your "River of Wood". It shows that you are serious about building a fine cue. To acquire the right wood and season it properly is no easy task. You have to start somewhere and I think you are off to a good start. Keep up the good work and good luck,

Good Cuemaking,

Thanks for all of the nice comments guys.

Willie, you and I see the river the same way. Just keep it moving in and out.

Arnot, your comments struck me a s heartfelt and I really appreciate them. I am serious about making fine cues. But for now, I am just the little guy learning and trying to stay out of the way of much more accomplished cuemakers than myself. I enjoy this art so much. I get such great pleasure out of creating something myself. I plan on doing this for a long time.

The river will continue to flow!

Date the wood once you turn it round. The idea is to keep working the wood down with woods in different stages and sizes from square to almost finished size.

That's a nice start for 2 years of collection consider how much woods cost today. I think I am qualify for little small River of woods.
