I've heard of a player name Doung Young , from Texas. Has anyone ever seen this guy shoot and if so , what do you think? I have met a few people that said he was like a train.... running over most players. Thanks

Doug has been around here in Georgia some. He does play very good and has no fear of playing anybody....sometimes he makes some bad games. He stays in action.

Last time I saw him he was with Stevie Moore. They were playing in a tournament here about 3 months ago. He is a very solid player, but does get the bad end of a game alot from what I've seen. Nice kid though.

He came through TN and beat up on Pickle a couple sets, but then got run over by Gabe Owen and he was getting the last two. Lost more to Gabe in one set than he beat out of Pickle.

Very strong road player and seems to get into tough action.

His nickname is the Waco Kid and he is from Texas, but stays in Georgia some and that is where I played him. First time I met him my son beats him for the winners bracket of a tournament, then I play Doug and he beats me and then beats my son twice to win the tournament. He plays real good and has as big of an ego as most young pool players would that play that good. He is a very solid lower pro level player. Plays the bar box and nine footer both jam up. He gives up too much weight at times, but also wins at times giving up more than you might think possible to give up and win.

Yes I know doug, he came to my place and beat one of my locals out 2-3 $ I think he is with a friend of mine out weston the road now. have not heard, in a while how they doing. but Doug is a real good player, he is with a good man now that will learn him how to gamble. will talk later " OLD MAN STICK"

I hear of Doug all the time. I see him on occasion. If you want action, he's up here in ATL Georgia at a pool hall named Mr. Cues II. He's there a couple nights a week. Young guy, but knows his game. As several other of you mentioned, he gives a lot of weight. Lotta other players up here too including Archer, Steve Moore, Thornfeldt, etc.

Thanks everyone/ I think I am gonna go check him out , watch for a while before I give some money away.

I know Doug Young from when he was a child

Doug Young is originally from Mississippi. He moved to Waco, TX around 1996-1997. His brother Eric is a good friend of mine. Actually, I spoke with his mother three days ago. When I was 17, Doug was 13 or 14. He always came up to me asking for five or ten bucks. I drove him down to the local pool halls and dropped him off. When he came home he would have a huge wad of money, then he would peel off my measly ten bucks and thank me, lol. Doug was good pool player as a teenager. I hear a lot about the things his been doing in pool, although I haven't seen him play in years. I remember he used to watch, tape, and study ESPN pool players. I remember him saying "One day I am going to be playing pool on ESPN." I never doubted he would, but at that time, he was just a kid. Originally the title "Waco Kid" was given to Billy Murphy, a local pool legend from Waco. I guess Doug adopted the same name. If anyone sees Doug, tell him Kurt said hello and I hope the best for him. Tell him to e-mail me at modified4christ@yahoo.com
Take care everybody!

hell yeah! he came to memphis last weekend and matched up with john hager jr 8 ahead on the big table. doug dogged like 4 or 5 games right off the bat and STILL beat hager in about an hour and a half. he caught a gear and hager had no chance! i did not know doug but the guys staking him knew something so i went in with them. ;) if he can get a consistent big money backer like lil jon has now or like tony watson had, i don't know if mr. little still backs him, doug could really be something.

That was at the Waffle House off Beechnut Street about 6 in the morning after a very successful session. He was with a backer and two friends who shall remain nameless. He had the pork chops (3 chops) with scrambled eggs, grits and wheat toast. Strawberry jam on the toast because that's all they had. He peppered the grits. Coffee, black, and a large OJ.

Bob <-- Hope this Freds.

The most popular place to mug a pool player and the dirtiest bathrooms in the industry to boot. Good breakfast though.
