rodolfo luat
jeff de luna
jericho banares

playing now on stream against John Rebong losing 6 - 1 playing opposite of flawless

Biado - Ignazio match would be the one to watch! $5,000 first prize here, and then on to General Santos City for the Manny Pacquiao Open, Sept. 2-12, singles and doubles!

What the hell is Rodney doing in the PI? He has a hard time cashing in the U.S. His backer must have money to burn. Johnnyt

thanks for the clips. What a lineup of pinoy killers, and to think there wasn't Alex, Efren or Francisco there either.

I'd be curious as to how (by way of example) Rodney lined up this trip and the expectations of income vs expenses. That plane ticket can't be cheap.

Did he have a stakehorse? Did he have a local steer-man? Did he have promise of $ matches?

A venture like this is an entreprenurial gamble he surely thought out prior to booking.

Someone ask Rodney to post his P & L for this trip.

:) Lots of names I have never heard of before. Who is this Rebong who just beat Morris? What about Labastida who just knocked out Orcullo off the competition? What about Boots Bautista who is currently playing against Biado in Camera 3?

This is one of the reasons they are so good. That line-up plays each other or the like just about every day for money when not at a tournament. How and who does Rodney play in the states? He won't get any money games with lesser tier players than that are in the tournament. It's not like he's some young gun that no one knows over there. Johnnyt

Rodney is a great player and good friend. I hope he snaps the next tournament he plays in off. He did awesome in a tournament a few months back, took 2nd out of over 300 something players I think in Asia.

Typhoon

I was hoping the Taiwan Typhoon would be hitting the Philippines for this one. :sorry:

Rodney beat Orcollo in the US open 10 ball finals in 2013- so he can clearly he is capable of beating anybody in the world and cashing. Do people really question his talent level?

plane tickets would cost about $1300-1500 on the average (if you're coming from the west coast). good thing about this current tournament is that the entry fee is only $100. hotels are cheap. food is cheap. plane tickets going to General Santos City, about $150 (for the Pacquiao tournament). the only expensive thing here is if you lose money playing with the other "big boys". :grin-square:

As much traveling as Rodney does Im sure he has enough mileage points to pay for his tickets. And since he is from Hawaii he might be departing from there for an all around visit.

here's the result from yesterday's last-16 and quarterfinals,

i will be on the venue later this afternoon to watch the semis and the finals
