Rodney Morris is a cool ass dude

Get over yourself !

I think maybe u should pursue a career in sports marketing raddle pocket, maybe I would play Rodney a big set of an all around format and u can back him. Then you might not be so pleased about your viewing pleasure. I am sure that u would not bet that fat meat is even greasy would u raddle pocket.

I would say your alot like most pool players in America, you get your kicks on knowing that your right and any time there is even the slightest inclination of so you burst with joy - does this ring a bell? I realize that I am not one of your favorite players, maybe I would get beat in an all around format against the Rocket he is a great Champion. But I will play him a set of 14.1, banks, and ten ball for ten dimes. DO u think u can get him a backer - I would say you will be searching for the center of the pocket on this offer for sure. Feel free to pm me if anyone would like to take me up on this offer, I am under the idea if this game does happen it will dissapate center pockets haughty spirit slightly.

Centerpocket never disrespected you 1 bit..He used the words won Not BEAT when talking bout Rodneys comeback....it's kinda like getting double dipped in tournements...it might not suppose to happen but it has happened to every pool player out there..I'm starting to see why John called you a lil B..ch..Want some cheese to go with that wine ?

Danny -

I know you are a competitor so before you react to what people say here, relax. You are too good and too nice to respond to the marority of the stuff said here. I know sometimes you have to, but in this case, be better than that and ignore it. Just keep on winning. The OP was not trying to beliitle you IMHO.

By the way, are you playing with a Josey cue now? At least it looked like a Josey at the Open.

I want to say thanks

Thank you to everyone for understanding that I had no reason for being attacked by Danny. Imagine my surprise when I came to work this morning, saw a message in my inbox from Danny. At first I thought it was weird but kind of cool because I DID HAVE SOME RESPECT FOR THE GUY, he is a great player. I opened the message and he goes on blasting me saying I insulted him. I double checked my original post to make sure I didn't then I commence ripping him a new a*shole and really insulting him! I wish I had saved what I wrote to him but I didn't. I pretty much told him to grow some thicker skin and that I now understand why alot of people say he is a bi*ch. Before I didn't believe any of the talk about him but now I definitely do.

Like I said, thank you to everyone for understanding my position. By the way Danny, you did dog it when the match got hill hill. You went for a low percentage bank over a high percentage safe. If you listen to the commentary even Diliberto agreed with that assessment.

This will show my age, but many years ago I was sweating a big match in LV. For the life of me, I can't remember the guy's name, but everyone called him "The Tornado."

I was sitting much to close, and this guy could not get a roll for shit. After about 2 racks of this, I leaned over to my wife, and said, very quietly, "Man, this poor guy can't get a break for shit, " or something close.

Well, in fact, he was lining up the shot and my voice carries, and well, you know, he stood up and walked over to where I was sitting. I mean, right in the middle of the match and there was a big crowd there, too.

He smiled, and said, "It's been like that all day, brother, " and winked. He went back and finished a very tough run out.

He was killed a short time later in his Caddy, hit by a train, I think.

I always appreciated that he didn't knock me on my ass..........

Anyway, Danny is a competitor and he is right about the losing thing. Anyone that loses gracefully is a loser, IMHO. I get beat a lot, and it has never been very easy to remain calm, and collected. The losers give in, the winners come back. His choice of words were harsh, but I know he didn't mean anything personally, just as you didn't.

He replayed that match a million times at night, like all great players do. Your post just opened an old wound, and he will probably apologize in a couple of weeks. I wouldn't bet against him in any re-match. I hope nobody took this thing to heart.

JMHO, of course.

A cool ass dude ...... and the next member of the Mosconi cup

Rodney Morris is in fact THE "cool-assest dude" in the game.

Having had the great pleasure of working with Rodney over the years, I can say, without ANY hesitation, that he is the coolest guy in the game, and perhaps in the industry.

Rodney became a very good friend, even living with Heidi and myself for some time. He was always positive, respectful, humorous, kind, generous, and sincere.

If there were more pros out there like him, and fewer bozos, the sport would be so much further along than it is.

Another thing about Rocket, he understands the crowd and the fans, and takes his time to get to know them, speak with them, and keep them entertained. He shows his emotions when he plays, and spectators become his fans, since they are able to bond with him as he plays. Unlike others, he doesn't ignore the spectators, he involves them.

When we were looking for our first player to sponsor, every single person in-the-know that I spoke with put him at the top of their list. They were all 100% right.

I understand no one likes to get beat. Danny, you are a champion and a GREAT player. I do not think the original poster liked the comeback even more because he beat you, just that it was an incredible comeback. Danny, you are a better person than this and should just ignore it. As a fellow Christian, this certainly isn't the response I would expect.

That's an all-around great post metalicane! Nicely worded.

But I will play him a set of 14.1, banks, and ten ball for ten dimes.

Danny,
In that set, you would be a big favorite, as Rodney's forte is 9 ball.

Also, center pocket's post was not knocking you, he was praising Morris for that particular win. If anything, I would take it as a compliment that centerpocket thought coming back against you was such a noteworthy task! The point in his post was not Morris beating YOU, it was what Morris was able to do against a top flight player.

You are going to end up having more people REALLY rooting against you than for you if you keep getting into battles over such small things.

If I were a professional player of your level, I would be very happy and proud to have fans remember me, and I would try hard to conduct myself with dignity and kindness. You make many more friends that way!:)

Good luck Danny.

For those that think Rodney is the "tits' in the personality and composure department, you are absolutely correct, IMHO. Yes, he does play to the crowd and it's always appreciated. With that said..........

I'll take Earl the Pearl for an example. That guy, when on his game, is a true genius. When he's off his game, he's an ass........but, people still like him, as I do, for his playing ability mostly.

Some guys just didn't get the DNA hand dealt that included TWO great talents. Rodney is the rarity and I won't judge others that don't have his gifts.

I will still watch Earl play wherever he is, hoping to see that genius come to life, whenever it happens. If he starts to dog it, I go to the bar.

Danny, on the other hand, has had to do it the hard way for most things he accomplishes.

His work effort, persistence, talent, and more importantly his heart is why I like his style. <He will mellow with age........>:)

JMHO, of course.

The player you are referring to is "Hurricane" Tony Ellin. He was a hell of a player and from what I could tell, a humble, down to earth guy. He and Johnny Archer were very good friends.

RIGHT! "Hurricane"..............this just tells you what everyone says about me is true, isn't it?

I got the mad cow disease.........

Funny, how things as small as this make such a big impression. A really great guy. Later, he asked me to watch his case and stuff while he did some business. I waited 10, then took it to the bar and drank a few. He found me, and didn't seem worried a bit. A real class act...........

Pro pool has a real shortage of these guys...............It is what it is. :o

Misha I think you are talking about Tony "Hurricane" Ellin
I guess I should have read the entire thread.

WTF is this?

Center Pocket said nothing bad about you at all. This was very uncalled for especially considering this thread was about how cool Rodney Morris is in person. And you come and hijack this thread spreading nothing but negative sh*t just because he happend to recall a match where Rodney played you.

And the best part... you are supposedly a Christian? My understanding is that one of the cornerstones of Christianity is humility and that as a Christian, one should not pusrue, or have, false pride.

This seems extremely hypocriticial to me... but what do I know, I sin all the time.

Keep up the good work... the only person alienating Danny Harriman is Danny Harriman.

I can't speak for all Christians, but I think a Christian should first look within before judging another. >and even then it's not very wise< All Christians make mistakes, that's WHY they are a Christian. The difference is that they are also forgiven.

Another way to think about this is this:

"Never judge another unless you have walked a mile in their shoes."

WHY?

Because then they are a mile away and YOU have their shoes.

Wow, a little sensitive, are we? I think the original poster was impressed with Rodney's comeback more than the fact that you lost. Get your ego down to ground level, would ya?
