Rodney Morris' Tainted Past

Ironically enough the Accu-Stats video that I am watching tonight is the match between Rodney Morris and Francisco Bustamante from the Sands Regency tournament in Reno. I think it's around 1994.

And, of course, Grady is commentating..:)

He’s a golden gloves boxer i’d take him on my side too lol Dennis and Rodney are both great guys. Their past incidents with the law are more amusing to me than anything else. Some drug related incidents in their early twenties doesn’t really make a scratch on their reputation for being great guys in the pool community for decades. Even Tim Allen has a past! 😂

There's a lot of people with shady pasts.

SVB and minors is one.

I also witness a well known pro player steal money. Man reached behind the counter and took a handful of money. There's a video of it for safekeeping.
 
Rodney and I had a mutual friend that owned a pool room (my favorite room) and that's where I first met him, about 35 years ago...I hadn't seen him in a good chunk of those 35 years, until this past April at SBE...he was sitting in the Pro Arena waiting for his match to start...I walked up to him and said, "Rodney...remember me?"...we had an awesome 15 minute conversation reminiscing about our friends pool room...as far as I'm concerned, Rodney is one of the nicest guys I've ever met, and whatever mistakes he may have made in the past, will never change my favorable opinion of him...we're all human, we all struggle at times...Rodney Morris is a beautiful soul and a wonderful human being...

and, its like the same 4 or 5 guys, every time. im with you. i have to take breaks occasionally. but when you feel strong enough to wade through all the opinionated grumpiness, there are some nuggets to be found here.
