Rodney Morris' Tainted Past

So dude got caught up in illegal drug activity.....and got caught.

Just like 85% of the people who post here but didn't get caught. Literally, "But for the grace of God, go I".

Criminalizing drug offenses, when the majority of people partake, is hypocritical.

rodney totally owned it at his HOF speech, "first i got indicted now i got inducted". fun to player watch

Yes, some of our favorite players have a past, and we love them anyway because of who they are, not because of who they were. Rodney and Chohan are the most obvious examples, both an undeniable credit to our sport.

... but all of that said, we are all, at least to a point, defined by our past, even our distant past, and, fair or unfair, pool players are public figures bound to greater scrutiny than the average John Q Public.

That’s not what a nit is
From Dr. Dave's Terminology Glossary:

nit: a cheap person who wants too much of a handicap, or complains about the fairness of a wager. A nit is usually a better “talker” than a “player” and usually doesn’t gamble unless they think they are a lock to win.

Dr. Dave has done more for our sport than most all of us AZers put together. AZB would be a better place if people didn't take shots at other people for no good reason. I stopped looking at AZB twice in the past because of all the negativity. Almost every time I posted something somebody would come up with something negative to say. Anonymity breeds contempt.

Seen him at the bar at Derby City in 2012 or 2014 singing country at the Karoke hour. Was pretty good.
They had the char broiled oysters and when I wasn't betting, that was my jam.

Pool isn’t an easy life in the US. There’s no government funding for players like there is in Europe. It’s no secret back in the day (and i’m sure today too) lots of full time players would supplement their income selling drugs. It’s the perfect side hustle. The money is good and it gives you more time to shoot pool than working a 9-5 would.

I remember back in the early 2000’s Dennis Hatch went to jail too. Drug trafficking and again for armed robbery.
He led 2 guys to jump a player he'd just lost too.
He turned on them at trial and took 6 months in the federal penitentiary.

Guy is the real deal regardless and if I'm ever in a situation, he's gonna be the pro I want on my side.
