Hi ppl I just had a question that was worriying me, My friend has couple of cues that he really abuses as in places them in the boot of his car (out here in U.A.E it soars upto 48 degree C), breaks with it etc etc (hes playing with a southwest) on the other hand I had a annie o pro shaft made and it has never left my house, placed it in a case in room temperature always and it has warped.... any idea why his cue is still straight........

Thanks

What has happened is that his cue has the notorious 360 degree warp. It has warped very badly in all directions. However being warped equally in all directions it appears to be straight!

Really I have to guess it is a combination of good wood, proper aging, proper construction techniques and a generous dose of dumb luck that has kept your friend's shaft straight. On the other hand if you have kept your shaft dry and stored it in reasonable positions it should not be warped assuming your home is climate controlled.
