Because Ronnie came to the table and was snookered on all reds, he had the option for a free ball.
He shot the green, which as a free ball is worth the value of the ball that would normally be on (red in this case).
Green (1 point) + Black (7 points) = 8 points to start.
Then the rest was scoring as usual.

And because Ronnie started with 16 points of foul from Ryan Day, the final score of the frame was 169-0. Maybe the worst white-wash, but the largest winning margin was 178-6. Must have had a lot of fouling. .... Here is that match. The first four minutes has 40 points of foul.
Ronnie can still play amazing in spurts, but the WC is a different beast. 2 weeks long. Much longer races. Gun to my head, I'd say the endurance just isn't there anymore, but I can certainly think of worse things to spend my money.
