Ronnie's 147

He uses the put it in the hole system. I still think NOBODY has this guys cue talent.

You said it, NOBODY has his talent. He makes the difficult look absurdly easy. He's the only player in any cuesport that has ever made the hair on my neck stand up just by watching him play. You get the feeling that you're watching something super special, that hasn't been seen before and probably not ever again. Sort of like watching Federer play tennis.

When he is "ON" everyone looks very small. He reminds me how average my game is.

Many snooker players could not make the transition to pool...I just know that if he applied six months of dedication he would be a monster. The money is still much better in snooker so I don't think we'll ever get a chance to find out.

Note: 6.1M English Pounds = 10Million USD

Ronnie at his very best.....it just seems impossible to play the game any better then he does.
An absolute pleasure to watch, and I feel fortunate to have seen him play many, many hours.
When he hits that gear, noone is even a close second.

gr. Dave

Ditto like the Wow thread

Nice.......was like watching Earl or Ether in dead punch.

I love the last ball....shove that in you A$$ and smoke it. No wonder the rest fear him.

This is my favorite break from Ronnie, it's not a 147 but it's fun nonetheless. Raw talent.

For fun, check out his mechanics in this video and compare them to above vid. The man has incredible talent but he's worked very hard. It's the difference I think between him and Alex Higgens and Jimmy White.

That was impressive! At the end he was shooting so fast it was crazy.

One question though, I thought I read somewhere that the cueball is not supposed to come off the table in snooker? It definately did on that last shot. Do I have bad info? Or is the rule just to prevent jump shots?

No, I don't believe there is any rule against the cue ball leaving the playing surface so long as it stays on the table. Like this object ball did http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RXBOcg2tra4&NR=1 :)

Brunswick's Rules of AMERICAN Snooker under Rules of Play - 9: It is a foul if a player intentionally causes the cue ball to jump (rise from the bed of the table) by any means, if the jump is an effort to clear an obstructing ball.
