Rug Installation and Recovery

Here's how I do my rug installations.

I completely dis-assembly the table: Rials, pockets, bedcloth, slates and frame.

then I lay out the rug, mark the center with masking tape, use a plumb laser to center under the lamp, parallel to the wall, set the frame on the rug one center it.

slates come back on and the rails are recovered.

The table is leveled and preped for the bedcloth.

bedcloth is installed.

Nice table. Ugly-ass carpet.

BTW - citrus based adhesive remover will remove the simonis logo on the cloth when you can't get it all tucked completely under the rail.

Go to Sears, they have a 2 gal compressor which also happens to come with a 1/4" crown stapler

Get a Duo-Fast electric if you don't feel like lugging around a compressor. Lot's less trouble. We save the air tools for the shop.

Go to Sears, they have a 2 gal compressor which also happens to come with a 1/4" crown stapler

Glen turned me on to this set-up. With a air stapler it can be modified to never cut through the cloth no matter how hard you press. I also didn't want to lug around an air compressor but after using it for awhile I realized its far superior to the electric or hand stapler. Its a craftsman compressor if you look in the background in the crate you can see it. Like Glen said go to Sears.
