RULE: You're on TWO!

I once told an opponent that he was on two fouls and he claimed he wasn't because I had shot in between his two fouls. :D
I've had a TD tell me that if I made a ball after my opponent's foul, it took him off the foul. It's hard to find good help.

IMO the '3 foul rule' should be changed. Not loss of game but if the opponent can't get out and win with 3 BIH situations in one game the person that did foul 3 consecutive times, should be awarded a game instead of a loss... :grin:

Not only is it a foul to shoot when play is suspended to get a ref or TD to 'make a call', but it is also considered 'unsportsmanlike conduct'

From the World Standard Rules at;
http://www.wpa-pool.com/index.asp?content=rules_fouls#6.16

6.16 Unsportsmanlike Conduct
The normal penalty for unsportsmanlike conduct is the same as for a serious foul, but the referee may impose a penalty depending on his judgment of the conduct. Among other penalties possible are a warning; a standard-foul penalty, which will count as part of a three-foul sequence if applicable; a serious-foul penalty; loss of a rack, set or match; ejection from the competition possibly with forfeiture of all prizes, trophies and standings points.
Unsportsmanlike conduct is any intentional behavior that brings disrepute to the sport or which disrupts or changes the game to the extent that it cannot be played fairly. It includes
(a) distracting the opponent;
(b) changing the position of the balls in play other than by a shot;
(c) playing a shot by intentionally miscuing;
(d) continuing to play after a foul has been called or play has been suspended;
(e) practicing during a match;
(f) marking the table;
(g) delay of the game; and
(h) using equipment inappropriately.

Of course in a 14.1 World Championship it is traditional to have a scorer and scoring display that is visible to both players (and the audience), in which case no reminder is required. A player might want to alert the scorer through the referee if a foul is not posted or removed promptly. In the case of no scorer, it might help to have yellow cards to set up by the players seats to indicate fouls and prevent "earnest discussions."

It might have helped, but there were no scorers except occasionally, and there were no cards indicating the number of fouls. The players were supposed to keep their own scores at least in the early rounds. I was helping Schmidt by turning his numbers over at the end of every rack in the Dechaine match. Dechaine was mad (especially when John was running 108 on him) and wanted me to stop scoring for John. Made for an interesting reaction when the ref told Dechaine that since he hadn't warned him as John approached the table, John was still only on 2.

They had someone scoring the Feijen/Schmidt match but Feijen's girlfriend was arguing with the scorer and Feijen was getting mad about how it was being done and eventually he started doing it himself.
