Run-Out-a-Day YouTube challenge.

I haven't kept stats on this just yet, but I'm thinking I probably should start. I anticipate this to be a very common question.

The first day I hadn't even thought to start the challenge and I got it on the third or fourth rack of the day.

Day 2 took forever, I think somewhere around rack 30-40.

Day 3(link below) wasn't too long. Got that one after about 15 racks.

But I couldn't guess what the 'typical' number is yet. Hopefully the number tends to a respectable amount after I get so much practice time in.

Day 3:
http://youtu.be/QILa78tG0Xw

You play some pretty nice shots but your stroke needs work. Don't take that the wrong way - I think you get the game mentally, but not yet mechanically. That will take time, as it does for everybody.

Fix your stroke and you'll be BnRing every 3-4 racks. Good luck.

Try it out a couple times at your local room. I'm three days in now and I've had nothing but positive responses from everyone.

I don't have a table at home either, or even a cue for that matter, though I've had both in the past. I like to say I have a hundred tables and even more cues spread out among the many pool halls here in my hometown of Jacksonville.

I'm the first to admit how strange I am. Maybe now I just don't care to hide it. Instead I'd like to invite others to join in the fun. It really is fun. Even when it takes entirely too long to accomplish.

Fortune favors the bold. Good luck to you.

Interesting idea, and keeping stats is cool as well. I have a table in my basement, maybe I should come out of retirement and give it a whirl!

Day 4 (link below). Didn't want to wait too late in the day to get this one done.

Park Avenue is a nice place to play in the afternoon. It's really quiet. It feels like playing in my own private room. This one could've come quicker. I had several close attempts leading up to it. After about one hour of trying two balls went on the break, and the one ball was close to the side...

Here's my contribution, and a proposition ..

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uGiLXF9oSp0

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LNqyOKrvzoI

For those who want a glimpse of the elusive "GHOST of MEGALODON" LD shaft, look hard its the shaft I've been ,and will continue using in all vids I post..

Proposition for "GrandTourPromo" ::Hows about race to 100 for $100 ?!?!?!

All videos must have tagged and dated paper presented to confirm authenticity from here out, all runs must match the upload date for that day, and be performed on 9 foot table..

As it stands its 4-2 your way..

We can set the limit upwards to 5 runs per day,, either break and runs or baby doll runs ,or both you choose..

Do we have a Bet ???

I like the dated paper idea if I were to take this bet, but I'm not inclined to at this time. I'm fairly committed to doing this on a different table every day, and I couldn't expect someone with their own table to do the same.

I'd like you to keep posting videos just to keep me company. It'll really add to my motivation to keep going.

I've just had a magic rack made for me to use for the duration of my challenge (link to Day 5 below). I see you have one as well, and I'm sure you'd agree that it gives the best rack over all others. I look forward to less aggravation from the racking, as I have plenty to come from my choking on the 9-ball.

Thanks for the offer though.

Interesting idea like others have said.

No sure what level your at (didn't watch the vids) but I don't see it as much of a challenge.....or it won't be for long as most who play the ghost will tell you.

But kudos on the effort , especially if you make it all the way.

It sounds cool but I do not play everyday or have a table at home, plus bringing a camera to the poolroom everyday is not that much fun especially when people are wondering what you are doing and why you are so strange, haha.

It's best to go incognito :rolleyes:

Hey Grand,
I like your videos and the run out you are doing. Hope you make it thru the whole week with the run outs!

Thank's for the support, Lock. I don't see this week being a problem. I'm gonna do two more, then I'll make a compilation video of the first week's BnR's.

Today I think I'll be doing one at Solids and Stripes of Orange Park, FL. The pockets have recently been tightened there, and it'll make a nice addition to the series.

More soon,

I'm about your average short stop's speed. I can tell you that these aren't coming too easily right now, but I can see how I'll be improving if I stick to this for a year as planned.

I'm in relatively good health at the time of this post. I would hate to jinx myself so early in the challenge, but I think the hard times will come when I'm just not feeling well enough to leave the house. I will consider the challenge failed if I don't get one every day for a year.

Anyway, 5 down, 360 to go.

If you complete your "run-a-rack-a-day" challenge, I will make a $100 donation to the charity or charitable cause of your choice. That breaks down to about .27 cents that you earn per run.

no hard feelings if you do not complete the task
best of luck to ya

Have you tried a cut break, putting the cueball about 6" right of center on the break, and use right english going to the right side rail and back with the cueball making the wing ball, and playing shape on the 1 in the lower corner pocket. Get this down and you will not have to play many racks to run out.

Motivation just skyrocketed...

Mr. Bond,

I will try my very best to complete this challenged as stated. You've added to the stakes, and for that I sincerely thank you. It is no small amount you've pledged, and I will be keeping it in mind each day. It has already made me so much more motivated to keep going, and I didn't know that was even possible. I will be thinking of a charity worthy of such a generous commitment.

Thank you,

What the definition of a shortstop? I was under the impression they weren't far short of pro standard?

Imo, shortstop is the guy they call when a road player comes through town.... Robert is not that guy... In that area Grossman is considered a pro so it would prob be Butch Croft, Ramsey Barrett, Larry Gail if he still plays, Iron Mike if he still plays.... I hear bowflex is hitting em sporty these days...

Regardless, Robert keep up the work man... We played in weekly last time I played in a tourney.... You shoot very straight... I had to beat you to get in the cash... I got every roll... I remember you because you put your cue into the rack when we were done.... I called you over and asked if you had a player.... You said the house cues play just fine, lolz....

Keep posting vids please... I miss seeing all the rooms I used to play in...

Pretty sure Neil Fujiwara has moved from your area... He had an uber gear... Robert, ask matt or anyone up there about Neil winning that tourney using a walker vs that tough a$$ field... Most amazing thing I've ever seen... I actually believe it helped his rhythm/tempo after accident... He even had a spot for his beer in his walker.... He was coming back from being paralyzed from neck down from ****ing around with some home gym contraption... They said his chance to walk again was very slim... I visited him in hospital... Years before I watched him beat alcano at US open to finish 13th/16th before anyone knew who Alcano was....

Hope you are still hitting them Neil wherever you are... You were a dear friend and great addition to any room... He never hesitated too stop a session to help players that approached... I don't know how he dealt with that constantly....

Last I heard Neil is living the dream life in Hawaii. He's one of the nicest guys I ever met. He always made himself available for advice.

And if Butch, Ramsey, and Larry are shortstops, then you're right. I'm not in their category yet, though I did get the better of Grossman a few Sundays ago, for a fourth place finish at Park Ave. (brag)

Went for two today and rushed it away. I will work on that.

Here's day 6:

Park Avenue in Orange Park (day 2's video) hasn't been closed since it opened at its new location, as far as I know. I will be able to take advantage of several friends' tables in the event of some unforeseen closures.

I'm more concerned with sickness or days when I will just be too busy.

Go for it! At the end, put together a montage or all the great shots in the runs and share it.
Cheers, Mark
