BAGHDAD, Iraq — Without a single shot being fired, U.S. military forces captured former Iraqi leader Saddam Hussein as he hid in the bottom of a hole in a home near Tikrit, officials announced at a Baghdad press conference.

Just had to pass on the Great News!

Yes!

And, I heard he had to forfeit the $750,000 he was carrying- not that he's going to need it anymore!

Well, he was found in a hole...no diffrent from a "pocket". That it is enough to qualify the topic....

He looked like a homeless person. That guy is not too smart! All the money he had and he had the chance to go to another country if he would have agreed to long before the war started. Bet he's realizing just what a big mistake that was! Those Iraquis are probably going to lynch him sooner or later, probably sooner if they have their way!!

...and I am sure that Saddam's capture will make downtown Baghdad a much safer place for the poor soldiers from across the world that are getting killed on a daily basis there.

If Saddam faces military trial in the US, I wonder if he will face charges for crimes committed pre-1988 when a senior US official (I think it was Sec State at the time but am not certain) described him as 'a son of a b*tch, but our son of a b*tch'?

So, who is next on the list of the 'Axis of Evil'?

Saddam will be facing charges in Iraq. The weasel surrendered like the little girl he is and always was. His sons showed more heart than he ever had.

He had a high speed wireless connection and was watching Billiard Club television at the time of capture.

give up the worthless repetitive self promotion. If you could, we all know we can go to your site and watch the show pal.

And, if you would reference my earlier entry, he had to forfeit the post.

They should drive him to Northern Iraq where all the Kurds live and stand him outside until a crowd forms. Then, ask him some of the questions we're dying to find out about telling him that if he doesn't answer, he will be given to the crowd. We'll get a lot of information, I'm sure. After he gives us the information, our troops should jump in the truck and leave him there. The Kurds will take good care of him!

I heard he was being co-operative in questioning anyway, on all subjects aside from WMDs.

And look at it this way:
If there are no WMDs, he can't tell the coalition where they are.
If he can't tell the coalition where they are, and the coalition can't acknowledge the possibility that there are none without admitting to having lied to everyone, then they HAVE to tell us he's being 'unco-operative' with the questioning.

Or maybe there are WMDs, and he really is being unco-operative.
But ever since Bush admitted to having lied when he claimed there was evidence linking Iaq to Al-Queda, I don't think we can rule out the possibility that they were lying when they said Iraq had WMDs too.

The British certainly have a different perspective
on Iraq than we do? Wonder who has a better
grasp of reality?

In fairness it was a very nice place, as holes in the ground go.
Maybe I'll dig me one of those :D
