Recently bought a poison vx 2.9 j/b cue used. The tip came off in ten breaks. I took it to cue repair guy and he talked me into a samsara in which I was curious about. Ten breaks later it came off. I'm not a power breaker either. I'm I missing something on install work this type tip on a venom shaft?

In my experience.... all hard break tips will pop off eventually...... a day, a week or 6 months.............. then I did this and never had one come off again.... this is a phenolic ferrule and a white diamond tip......I glue them on with 5 minute epoxy.... hits like a rock.

I've done one Samaria tip in my short 3 year journey (so far). Scuffed with 150 grit because the only thing rougher I had was the street outside, used 20 minute epoxy and it's been holding for awhile now.

The Samsara is a really hard tip. On all really hard tips, you have to make sure that both the ferrule and the tip are completely flat. If there is any "rock" or unevenness, then the tip will come off.
We've put on thousands of Samsara's and the only issue we've had is either a hard miss cue, or we didn't get it flat.
We use Loctite Professional. Epoxy requires a film thickness to have bonding strength, but a film can be brittle if it gets too thick.
I'm not a fan of little scratches or holes. I don't think they do anything other than take away glue area. Of course, machining a pin will certainly help, and if you do machine a pin, then epoxy would certainly do well because there are areas for the film that would not carry the full load of the impact. I'm just not sure all that is necessary.

But aren't you just breaking with phenolic now instead of a White Diamond? I also use the phenolic tenon for phenolic ferrule/tips and it hits fantastically. I've never installed a White Diamond, but I know they are notorious for popping off.
