anyone had any trouble with them popping off. we changed the ferrule and everything to hold the first one then a week later the second one popped off. anyone???

i haven't had any problem....usually if tip pops off is either because glue is bad (old) or the surfaces haven't been prepped well.

for glue make sure it's fresh. i've had good success on break tips with the rubber toughened loctite CA gel. holds a little better than the regular thick CA i was using because of the rubber.

make sure the ferrule face is perfectly faced off. rough it up really well with 60 grit. sand back of tip with 60 grit as well as cutting a bunch of hatch marks with a razor. that should give the glue a good surface to hold on to.

No problems. Have had mine on for 6+ months.

After sanding them flat, did you try scoring the back side of the tip and top of the ferrule several places with a razor blade first before putting on the glue?

I haven't had any trouble either. I use locktite quick tight professional glue (not the gel) and have not had one tip pop off.

edit: Since I started using the quick tight glue about 6 years ago

You have to make sure it is Flat, Flat, Flat!

Also, we use the Loctite Professional. Its the best!

We use the Samsara tip on all our break cues and shafts, so we have probably put on more than just about anyone.

Do want you want to the tip but please, don't dick with the ferrules guys.
If the tip is leather all you have to do at most is press a tip p r i c k e r er against
it enuff to make a few indentations. The ferrule should be faced flat and thats all you want to do.
