I'm looking at buying a samsara break/jump. Are they worth the $500 asking price. It's says ebonized maple so I don't know if thats is for weight or what? Anyone have any info or opinions.

Suggestions for other break cues welcome.

I really like mine.. If your itrested in a Samsara I may consider selling mine. It's a JB-04 I also have a OB break cue and need to get a few more high $ items for the game room.

i haven't run into a j/b cue worth 500 yet. with cues like the j&j and ohmen/gilberts floating around for 400 and under it's hard to say anything else is worth more

I've got a $68 Action J/B that breaks just as good as my Jerico Stinger. The Stinger jumps better though. The Action J/B has a phenolic ferrule/tip and would not be legal for BCA sanctioned events. But for breaking the rack in a non-BCA event, it's hard to beat for the $68 price tag.

My J & J jump break for $68 is awesome for breaking. I also know a lot of people who jump with the Lucasi jump cues (also under $100). I personally see no reason to spend $500 on a break cue.

That said, I do own an Andy Gilbert break cue that I wouldn't sell for less than $500, but I have a playing shaft for it and it hits great.

Were you talking about the Lucasi sneaky jump for like 80 bucks or the Air Hog for around $100? Curious about preferences between those two.

Save your cheese

Perhaps I have not yet attained the experience level or playing expertise to make an informed opinion.....(B player.......30+ yrs experience) I purchased a J&J j/b cue from a member here for $50. It breaks like the proverbial sledgehammer w/samsara tip. I was able to try a few different j/b cues before purchasing so I was convinced a dedicated j/b cue was a good purchase even though others here say they would not own a playing cue they could not break with. I use OB2 shafts to play with, so breaking with these shafts was not a viable option for me. I can honestly say that I noticed very little if any difference in the break with my $50 cue than with a mezz or predator high dollar cue.......Dan
