I understand what DP is trying to do, but there are already enough beautiful women that play on the WPBA tour or regional tours that play just as good. Get one of them to play and put them on the TV rounds. It's not much fun watching two girls play that don't play much better than I do.
I watched Sarah Rousey playing on ESPN at a bar the other night. Two guys were watching talking about how cute they thought she was. Jennifer Baretta, Ming Ng, Chris Delagarza and Kristy Carter are also beautiful women who are pretty, would look good on the TV rounds AND (more importantly) have game!
My own opinion, if I go watch a billiard event, I want to watch GOOD pool otherwise it's a waste of time!
Yep! i like watching talented players not pin up girls who can't really play.

I believe that is what you want to watch. The question is what do the general masses flipping the channels want to watch? Sarah or Shanelle? If someone would post a pic of Shanelle I think more people would understand where Charlie and myself are coming from.
Maybe Charlie is in the wrong business and should market Shanelle for mud wrestling instead.
Ga Young Kim and Xiao Ting Pan are both gorgeous and can play pool. Would you change the channel if either of them were playing?
i'd rather watch sarah. she's cute and she shoots well enough to impress anyone watching.

Have Pool Player Barbie play in loose, non-revealing attire and no makeup and see how many ''fans'' she has. I hear her personality has improved since being put in the limelight, though. She was quite the snob before.
Sarah has natural beauty AND talent. Also, she, and other REAL pool players, don't have to dress slutty so that her breasts hang out in an attempt to distract from the fact that she has no skill.

What's wrong with variety? I get bored seeing Karen Corr on tv all the time. Yawnfest. Can someone who actually watched Shanelle play say the didn't enjoy watching the match? Helfert? Did you enjoy watching her play?LOL.
I really want to see more prize money in pool and a rise in it's popularity. Sex sells people! And here's the big kicker: the hot women aren't even dressing slutty like the wrestling girls on tv or even close to that.
I asked what do the general masses want to watch.

An easy thing to say without an explanation. I'm sure all the people with hungry children, forclosures, and bankruptcys are proud of their strong morals and principals while smart businessmen like me and Charlie do fine.
You lose a lot of credibility when you try to pretend that those women are more beautiful than Shanelle. Shanelle is 100% class btw

if i was watching only because they had attractive women on i wouldn't mess around i'd watch cinimax or something.
i dig watching Karen play. if anything i'd like to see something like a wpba ring game. or it could make the game look bad but they could go the pro wrestling route and let the players talk sh#t before the match.
if only there was a way to get the masses to appreciate the game......
i don't know charlie but from what i've read on here he's lucky not to be in jail. i'm no pro women's rights activist or anything at all. hell i'm not 100% happy they're allowed to vote (a joke) but i draw the line at sexual assault

Well to fair, the IPT did it their own way and some of their choices were obviously questionable and PROBABLY done to stir up controversy among the billiard fans.
MOST of the people who were selected, the vast majority of them were players who were qualified to be there.
What was strange is that during that time only Charlie and his "group" were selected from the UPA. It was quite obvious and sad that the UPA did not negotiate an all-or-nothing deal for their ranked players.
The IPT however did have a quite fair way of weeding out the people who didn't belong and had it continued then by the second year the IPT Tour Card holders would have all been top players without a doubt.
In principle the IPT had a great format going. Too bad someone with more substance and wherewithal didn't step up to do it.
Anyone who has the money could literally own professional pool around the world. If someone were to do what the IPT did on a smaller scale but consistently and guaranteed then they would 100% own professional pool.
Kelly Fisher also told me personally that after the first meeting in Orlando was the first time in her life that she truly felt like a professional athlete. Most of the players felt that way about the IPT.
Say what you want but the IPT did put on some great events and in the short time they pumped a lot of money into the personal economy of many pool players. They also robbed a lot of aspiring players and suppliers. The higher you fly the farther you fall.
If anything today's promoters should take some lessons from the IPT on how to put on a tournament, and how to handle promotion. There are lessons there that don't cost a lot to implement but will go a long long long way towards preventing rants like Sarah's from ever appearing online.
We all know that Sarah would rather have written a gushing and glowing report of the event, which she would have had it been worth that praise whether she herself did well or not.
I watched Shanelle play and wasn't impressed with either her play or her looks. She's not any hotter than a lot of ladies on tour who can actually play top level pool.
The thing is that someone who never before watched women's pool and who catches that kind of match will probably go away thinking that women can't play and that they could beat her. And they may never tune in again.
Would women's tennis be popular on TV if all they showed was hot tennis players who couldn't play?
For the girls I am sure we can dig up a bunch of Chippendales who can't make a ball. How popular would that be?
