Saratoga......same crap...different year

Pool players get the tournament they deserve. Until they stop supporting this kind of BS it will go on.

This is my feelings too. If this is true about this tournament I agree. It's good to put it up and AZ, but a few players at the tournament could pass it around for two days and I bet it would get changed the following year or there would not be one for lack of entries. Johnnyt

you nailed it!

Openly seeding the pros is acceptable, to me.

Fixing the draw is not.

He could openly seed the pro's and not lose 10% of the amateurs I suspect. People learn he is cheating the draw and there will be a much heavier backlash.

I have told the story before of one of the first big paydays for dirt track late models since the days NASCAR was still running on dirt. I forget now what it was to win, fifty or a hundred thousand. This was advertised nationwide and the cars came from everywhere. Around two hundred teams if I remember correctly. After the race there was a coast to coast uproar for several months. Second place back had paid the same as a weekly event, about five hundred for second and stepped down from there.

The next year he advertised the full purse, same Dolly Parton format, and over three hundred teams came from across the country! People want to compete and will come, they just don't like to feel tricked and taken advantage of.

With the "stacked deck" all the pros will make the final 16 and then seeded away from each other again will almost certainlly put them in the top 6 or 7. I just can't see how the TD thinks this is fair.

It's not about fair. It's about allowing a small group of "pro" players to earn a payday at the expense of a large group of gullible amateurs. This event is an exhibition. No more. Should be advertised as such.

I'm going for the first time (from Colorado Springs) and unsure how I feel about this info. Only reason I'm going is for the new players and tough competition. My initial thought is that I can't win irregardless, if it's rigged or not. But some other "regular" guys possibly could and that's not fair to them to have to go thru 5 worldbeaters to win.

This info is nowhere on the flyer and feel like I've been duped. Likely to never attend again, but am looking forward to playing this weekend vs some pro's. There's very few tourneys close to me that pro's attend so it's exciting.

Keep us posted on how you made out in the tourney, who you played, scores, etc.!!!
