Satins Finishes

i was just curious what was out there. was thinking about satin or purposely dulled finishes for cues. would love to see some pics of what you guys have and maybe some opinions on the feel and durability of the finish.

I recently restored and old Dufferin snooker cue.
I used an oil finish called Dr. WellWood. Similar to Tung oil.
Then used a shaft sealer over top and waxed it.
You don't get a deep build on it but as shiny as anything else you
could want.
If you want a duller finish which is what was achieved by the oil, then
you wouldn't shine it up as much as I did. Pretty much a satin finish with just the oil.

I like/ prefer the oil-rubbed finish.

I acquired Joey Spaeth's 71 Szamboti in the late 70's.
I think that is how he ordered it..I really liked it.
Every other pool cue I've owned has had the shiny finish.
I wonder how many cues Szamboti did like that.
..and I've never thought of ordering one like that....
..is 'oil rubbed' an option by custom cue makers?
