Saturday: Semifinals of 2013 U.S. Open 9-Ball Championship

Niels makes a brutal error, rolls the 2-ball up to the corner, and it hangs. Van-Van to the table. This error could have cost Niels the match.

Van-Van misses a cut-shot, but he leaves Niels long and dirty on the 3. Niels can't see it.

Neither player seems confident in this match. Jayson might glide right through either one, I'm afraid.

The semi-final will be the same way-- race to 11, must win by 2, except cap at 13.

The finals will be race to 13, must win by 2, except cap at 15.

Niels was so close to winning, and he gave Van-Van air. Van-Van just might win this match now.

Thanks for the rules. Now I understand better!

JAM you Rock!

I've moved to the edge of my seat and am biting my nails!...lol.

LOL! Me, too! :p

Lee breaks, makes the 1-rock. He's a man on a mission. Looks like he might go for a 2-5 combo, and he makes it, gets position on the 2.

Pockets the 2 and can see the 3, no problem.

Does anybody know what color the 4-ball is on this table? It must be purple instead of pink.

Lee is still running out, looks pretty easy from here.

Van-Van gets to his hill, 11. Niels, 10. Van-Van needs one more game to win the match.

Niels misses on the 1. Van-Van is back to the table. This 1 ball is make-able for Van-Van, but it's a tough cut.

Oh, baby. He makes the 1, and he can roll the 2 ball into the 9 for the win. I'm holding my breath.
