SBE acquisitions

I picked up a few new toys at the SBE this weekend. Sorry for the quick and dirty photos but I'm wiped out from being on my feet all weekend. :embarrassed2:

Let me know what you guys think.

The first is a beautiful BEM into Ebony Kikel. Words or photos cannot accurately depict how beautiful this cue is. I know it's said often, but it really has to be seen to be appreciated. It's simple and elegant and was an absolute show stopper. Every time I took it out of the case to show someone, a crown gathered.
It has the most amazing black lip mother of pearl inlays in the buttsleeve and the points, and the Ivory joint and Hoppe ring complete the package. It came with a nice smooth black leather wrap but it wasn't comfortable in my hands so a premium elephant was expertly installed today by Paul Drexler.

I would like to take this opportunity to say thank you to John Vero (AKA Johncue54) for the great deal on the Kikel. John is a fantastic person and a great trader to do business with. Thanks John!

The other cue I picked up is a stunning Ed Prewitt fullsplice wrapless. It has a highly figured Cocobolo handle into curly BEM with Ed's fancy rings, Ivory joint and Hoppe ring.

That prewitt is a great player, I was the original owner, I traded it because I upgraded to a fancier prewitt.

Dave Kikel Cue

Hey Tom, That Kikel cue looks even better with the black elephant ear wrap installed. My opinion is that Dave is one of the most under rated cue makers out there. His work is always top notch, his cues consistently play well, and I've always preferred his piloted ivory joint in his cues. Thanks for the kind words, it was a good time seeing you, Swiss Chris, and meeting Cleitonrocha and Kickin Chicken at SBE. John S. Vero.

Thank you John. It was nice seeing you as usual and the gang enjoyed meeting you as well.

You know, we live close enough, we should get together more than once a year. Maybe we should try and get a quarterly meet and greet going for the New England/New York guys.

2 straight up players!

Love the cues...
That Kikel looks great, I really like the BEM into ebony along with the veneer colors. It adds just the right amount of contrast and blends very nice.

The full splice Prewitt? 'nuff said

Dave Kikel Cue

Little Kenny hosted the June cue show last year in NJ and Mark K./Joe V.B have hosted cue shows in Windsor Locks, CT in the past. I don't know if either intends on continuing a show this year, I'll find out. But selecting a meeting place/pool hall for the day seems like a good idea to me.

Both are Great cues , Love the points on Both , Wrapless is My favorite Thanks for showing ..JIm

Beautiful coco on the Prewitt.
