Funny, Dave would be fun to have there.. He can sit with you on the foot of the table and I will be on the other side, hahahhahha Look forward to seeing you there. I will post or call site details as I think we have a crew. This will be nice to relax and talk fun.

Maybe an annual thing: Even if its not I will call this one the Al Conte supper.

Will also book a few extra seats as even if there not filled will leave extra room for us to spread out.

To me simple is when you're on an online forum that represents your profession, representing yourself professionally. Just my opinion.

I understand what u looking at josh.-I am always busy as a most of you are too, most people viewing these posts don't have time to post thoughts because it can go so deep and difficult to understand and communicate with others on the same level and same page of thought.

All of my misspell and short text typing is because I'm accessing web on a mobile phone and typing mostly as quickly and short as possible..most of the time I'm driving or in the process of a million things while entering posts..

I could go on for a long time about what's been going on around these parts..its another one of those things that gets kicked all over..-

I wish I could make it up to the SBE. A good meeting place for mechanics around here and all over to talk as a group or in person..

I definitely know what you're saying, and don't think I'm attacking you personally. It's just a pet peeve of mine. To me, that type of shorthand is good for college lecture halls, courtroom stenographers and teenage texts, not in a forum where you're showing your work and reputation. LOL Like I said, nothing against you, just think of it as constructive criticism. If you have the time to post, you have the time to spell it right. If you don't feel safe spelling something out while you're driving, it's probably no safer to abbreviate. :wink:

I look at it like this. I know you were at the Alsip seminar, and you've put yourself out there as a mechanic. If you took the couple of extra seconds to spell things correctly, in a way it adds credibility. Maybe not much, because your work should speak much more than your spelling/grammar, but if a guy is trying to decide between you and someone else on your skill level, could that become the determining factor? I know some people pretty old school who have the mentality that if you can't take the time to spell "you" instead of "u", you probably won't take the effort to do the job right either. I know it's not like that, but that's the perception it gives.

Like I said, it's just one of those things that has always bugged me, so I'm just throwing it out there, but more important dude, quit posting while you're driving!!! Don't become a statistic! LOL

Its all good,I don't take anything the wrong way because There is a lot of different ways the light can shine on a prism..and some folks have never even seen the light.

As for my personal work on pool tables..if a few of us "trained mechanics" was to set up tables side by side and had a customer looking to buy a table and walked around looking at the installation of cloth and tables they would say there all the same.. You wouldn't be able to tell the difference if any until you took table apart.

All plans are now firmed up and reservations in place. If all show up looks like 13 The dirty dozen hahahha anyways, I will be bringing a special gift for all of you and one thing I like to do at things like this is to have group photos. Just want to mention that as we will be at a very nice place and although no jacket is required you should have a collared shirt.
 
I'm getting ready to book a room for the weekend. Anyone have any recommendations for a cheap room?
