SBX hasn’t issued refunds yet

Well I hope Mr. Hopkins does do refund, other wise the next thing he touches could fail as people will be gun shy of the guy.
I'm sending in my Expo entry fee for next year regardless of what happens with this.

Been going to that thing for 20 years. It's a great time and a good tournament.

A long time ago Allen Hopkins was part of the DMIRO series, anyone remember that? They held several tournaments that were basically qualifiers for the season ending big event. All of the entry fees of the tournament stops went to the purse for the main event. I won one and received a spot in the main event. They never held that event and they just walked away with the money.

probably spend more on court/legal/lawyer fees than you're gonna get back. if you win all you may end up with is a judgement which is often worth about the same as the sheet of paper its printed on. actually getting $$ may be far more of a hassle than its worth.
And the satisfaction of knowing she killed the event.

Tough call, sbe definitely has obligations.

Same story...the names have changed.

I agree, I’ve been involved in several law suits, I’m a Licensed Private Investigator and we working closely with dozens of lawyers and assist with many types of litigations.

It’s the principal of the manor. Hopkins owns his house, if there’s a judgement rest assured it will be collected and paid out!
Principle...

I would like to think that before it gets that far Allen&Co. would be smart enough to whip the dough to those that are owed.
While that might satisfy the debtors, the State may have additional punitive tools at it's disposal.

Once the govt gets involved, things can get real REAL.

They have been unreachable via email this last month since the Expo occurred.

They misspelled my name on the results page. I emailed them asking to correct it and hoping they don't use the wrong name for reporting Fargo info, which they have yet to do as well.

Contact FargoRate directly, they'll get it taken care of.

I've tagged Mike Page for you ;)

I feel fortunate that my son ended up as a lawyer......just for things like this.....
I would have him set up a situation where it would cost them more to delay than to pay off the parties involved.

exactly, a female pro player messaged me when she saw my review on SBX Facebook page, she’s out $525.00 requested a refund and has patiently been waiting. Thankfully I’m only out $100 but our entry fees have been what’s been paying Allen’s Bills and that’s illegal under New Jersey law, it’s misappropriation of funds.

Had Allen not been using our money to live off from, we would have had a refund. And they wanted to issue refunds 30 days after the event hoping they’d make a profit and be able to afford the refunds.

I’ve sent a detailed message to the New Jersey Attorney General, next will be the local police in his town where his business operates, signing a second statement and pursing criminal charges. He’s been warned, the clock is ticking; and he’s ignoring anyone requesting their money back. Meanwhile, of thier website there is a clear policy that refunds would be sent. We all requested them and followed their own policy, (even though it was illegal) and still nothing. Legally they should have refunded those who requested it within 30 days.

So enough is enough, I’ve written and today spoken to someone at the attorney generals office next step is criminal charges.

It is not a local Police issue though, because it was not a local crime. It would be like reporting a crime to a local police department that happened outside of the city's city limits, when you should be reporting it to the sheriff's department, of the County that the crime happened in.

In this case, I imagine it should be reported to the Fraud department of the FBI, or maybe the US Postal Inspector Mail Fraud department. Surely not the local police though.
