so I was like wtf, since I just woke up and see 1400 instead of 800

I buy and sell a lot of stuff using paypal and have never seen this stuff before with Money Gram

the strange thing was the phone number is from Ohio, she (or he) said that he is on business trip in Alberta and cannot come to see an item, and on top of that last names did not match in email, "paypal" sent and Money gram address, lol

I went to my paypal and of course I have not seen a dollar from this transaction, paypal logo after carefully looking at email is off

So be careful with this type os stuff

P.S. and yes, I do still have an item for sale and all pictures and description you can see here:

Scam

Great catch Sir! Unbelievable what people will do to scam others. PayPal seems to be a tough way to get paid, unless you know the buyer.
Thanks for the alert.

Yep, unfortunately that's a pretty common craigslist scam. I wish scammers like this would get publicly flogged as part of their punishment.

One of the oldest internet scams in the books.

My mistake, overpaid for shipping. Please send cash return.

Thanks for sharing.
Well, at least they get creative, no more Nigerian lottery type of scams :D
And yes, I ALWAYS log in to my paypal from home computer to check balance. That is the safest way.
I also had one instance where PP withdrew money from my account after 2 days saying credit card was stolen. Luckily due to my laziness I did not ship the item yet. So, no harm was done.

just sent an email to that scamer:
"Hey, I decided to send you money before coming to work as I am sure I can trust you Samantha, you will love John Parris cue

here is the code you will you go get money at Money Gram: G00 s46K M3 D19k Br0

Let me know when I can meet your guy to give my cue

Thanks for the business"

Thanks for an idea Luck, I hope he gets more than 550$ from Money Gram

yeah so what happens is you with draw the money and send them the $550, then a week later you get a letter saying your account was used in a scam and you they are freezing it and taking the 1400 from your account or you have to pay it back.. so you loose $550 in the end..

and if you did infact ship your cue, you would have lost that too..

Thats kind of an old scam, popular on craigslist. I had it happen to me when I was selling a ps2, he sent me not one but two money orders for 950$, I wanted 75$ for it. So it was a little bit over, he asked me to cash it and send the rest back to him... more than likely a scam dont you think?

Heres how it plays,
they email you a better offer
you accept
they send an absurd amount more
then say "omg it was an accident and ask you to send it back and take a little for yourself"
if you bring the money orders to local post they can authenticate them, whether usps or moneygram or western union

well, now they dont even put money into your Paypal account, they say they did so you might send it before looking at your actual balance on paypal

Dude this happens all the time on kijiji ads, I don't even reply to messages like that. Wake up Kirill!!!ol

Just for fun... use that e-mail address on websites of all nature. Make sure Samantha gets as real feel of the diversity of web sites. Lol

Btw thanks for the heads up on the latest spam attack.

PayPal will always address there emails to you with your proper name at the
Top. NOT your email address ie: Dear john doe. NOT!.... Dear jdoe@hotmail.com
This should always be an instant red flag.
