Probably because it has less protection than PayPal goods and services. CashApp is a big one also.

I had some used furniture for sale on a local for sale site and it clearly stated cash only.
Had two people wanting to use Zele and when I said cash only they disappeared.
Finally a buyer showed up with a $100 bill and 5 $20's and off they went with the furniture.

If someone wants to pay you using Zelle I would accept it no questions. They buyer is the one who has to worry because as soon as the money transfers in, it is a done deal.

I hadn't heard of Zelle until someone wanted to pay me with it recently. Found this on Wikipedia:

Zelle is a United States–based digital payments network owned by Early Warning Services, LLC, a private financial services company owned by the banks Bank of America, Truist, Capital One, JPMorgan Chase, PNC Bank, U.S. Bank, and Wells Fargo.

i guess its better to be the seller if using zelle, at least according to this thread, i still will only use Paypal for protection both ways

ill take a personal check or cash or uspo money order.. your choice.

and send it out when the money has cleared. or if i personally feel you are honest then i take the risk as my decision.

anyone doing business on line with a stranger that doesnt have a brick and mortar store where you can go and walk in, takes a great risk and if screwed its mostly or all their own fault.

Well young people grew up with computers, technology, PayPal, so try hem jump on board fast.

Old people grew up with cash, coins, bank books, paper n pencils, phone books, and pay phones.

So we like old school, many embrace new ideas slow.

Here in Canada it's been EMT(Electronic Money Transfer by interact) that's become popular as its direct payment from bank account to bank account and very low fees or none depending on your account. But you really need to do you homework on who you buying from . It's become the go to way when buying and selling firearms as PayPal will steal your money and lock your account if they find out its being used in a firearm sale. The others like Zelle have similar policies I believe.
