Schmelke, Cue Componets or ?

Who makes a decent full splice or butt blank for the money? Not looking to spend Davis kind of money but looking for a decent butt blank to make some break cues and j/b out of. Any help?

schmelke is the cheapest but sometimes not always tho, you get a sub par blank.

never bought cue comp

prather had the best quality blanks thus far that ive tried.

I've done a few Schmelke and they were just fine. I heard that if you call you can get them to pick you a special one.

I have had good expierences with fs blanks from cue comp, my personal expierence.

I'm lucky enough to live close to cue components. Hand picked a few blanks out. Nice stuff. And from what I saw hanging, they were all nice.

Schmelke makes a good blank. I actually got one with some of the best Bocote I've ever seen. You can also custom order them with different wood combos and with the crotch of the points 3 inches higher to accommodate a wrap and still have a good point length. They also make plain Jane butts that you can order with a maple handle for a wrap or an exotic wood handle to leave it wrapless. Turnaround time on custom orders is only about 3 weeks too and the normal blanks went out the next day. I would definitely recommend Schmelke, David is a great guy to deal with and he was very accommodating.

No problem, I forgot to mention that if you want a wood they don't stock you can send it to them and they'll build you a blank too.

my choices

i have used schmeleke in the past and think they have great service and sell a good blank for the money.
i have used prathers in the past and think they have great service and sell an excellent blank for just a bit more money.
the other guy mentioned i have used in the past and do not plan to do business with his company in the future.
