Schmelke cues worth much?

I am going to look at two vintage Schmelke cues.

Worth much? Are they any good?

The blue one seems to have a normal pin. The brown one seems to have an older non-standard joint (proprietary?)

Thanks.....

dquarasr, Howdy;

They're used so ... trundle over to the Schmelke site and see what comparable cues sell for
ask .... well then it's horse tradin' time. chuckle.
Best of luck to ya sir.

they have zero collector value. and are cues that entry level players except for a few here buy.

i would say 150 for both cues with the cases would be fair. providing they are dead straight.

Good cues. I have 3. Only buy it for a player. Pass is correct. If you ever seriously want one build it

You can get a brand new Schmelke like the ones in your pictures for about $110 from their website. That should be an indication of their used value. They are not collector's cues. Old ones don't appreciate.

If the cues are straight and you like them, the $60 ad price is fair, imo. The cue with a weird joint, I wouldn't take if it was free, but that's just me:) You might love it.

I had a similar cue to the one pictured with the brass joint as my first cue back in 1986. Not a fan given a totally different feel compared to what I like now (wood to wood 3/8x10) plus the brass joint did bind so tightly once it was "almost" impossible to get undone.

I just had David make me a very nice sneaky cocobolo to my specs for $200 new out the door including shipping. I like the new branding logo on the shaft and I wish they put the same logo at the bottom of the butt.

I also have one of their bacote cues with leather wrap (ordered as a shooter) but I use it as a breaker with 13mm shaft and a Samsara break tip.

You can spec no logo on the butt,I wish i did that when i had mine made, the old Schmelke logo is ugly.

I don't NEED any cues. I have two great-hitting cues, both vintage Adams, for which I have purchased a CF shaft custom-fit to the Adams cues by EAP cues (Ed Peterson).

I had heard of the name Schmelke, and I thought it might be good to pick either or both up as a collectible. Since I need neither a player nor a "nicer" cue, I'll pass.

Thanks for all the responses!
