i was just looking for info about schon cues. i heard a little about them but nothing to sold. any info would be appreciated. ...........

While I cannot offer anything objective, I love mine. I have a pechauer sneaky pete and a schon. The schon has a very solid hit, and is stiffer compared to the pechauer. I have only positive things to say about my schon -- the price is steep, but I recived mine as a chrismas gift from my parents!

Quality cues
I bought a cue off them about 4 months ago so here is how I rate them. Keep in mind that I haven't tried all that many cues so my experience is somewhat limited. You might want to do a forum search, I am guessing topics like this have come up in the past.
Customer service: extremely good. They delivered within a day of what they estimated, were very helpful on the phone when ordering.
Workmanship: Again, very fine work. No complaints whatsoever.
Playability: This is very subjective, but I find that Schons have a great deal of power. It took me a little while to get my speed control back.
They are a very good cue, I doubt you will be disappointed.

Schon are excellent cues, I have hit with a few of them. My only objection to them is their price. For the same money you can have a custom cue made to your specifications that will play equally as well, or better. Personally I prefer to have something that no one else has, such as my custom Jacoby, there is not another one like it and at under $800.00 it was a steal. If you do decide to go with the Schon, Im sure you will not be disappointed they are excellent cues.

Ive shot with a schon and it hit pretty well. I just dont like the way they look.

I've owned ALOT of different Schon cues. I used to sell them about 11-12 years ago. I had an SP-25 forever. They're excellent cues, but if I were in the market for a cue in that price range, I would buy a custom cue. Schon is THE best production cue made. The price is so high now on alot of their cues you can buy a nice custom cue for the price.

I've owned 3 Schons, starting with an old R-14 from the early 80's, an STL -11 and and STL-7 (my current primary playing cue) and I still have them all, can't part with any of them. I love the stiff, solid hit and the way they play.
I understand you can get a custom for the price, but unless you have a design or a cuemaker you KNOW you really can't live without, I'd go with a Schon. JMHO

i do want to thank everyone for their responses. as far as paying for a custom cue over a schon i would like to say that i currently shot with a new custom dale perry cue, which i got about 5 mths ago. the reason i am looking and asking is because while the cue i have is awesome i still have some feeling in the back of my head that i have shot with a better cue. you can say im looking for my magic cue but i think i am one the right path with checking out schon. but i still am open to comments...........

i think all of us pool players are searching for the "perfect" cue and it's definitely one of the cases where it's in the eye of the beholder...good luck on your quest and i hope the Schon works out for you if that's what you decide on

I've tried many other cues. Some hit the same, some different. For the money, you can not find a better hitting cue! Some say buy one from a custom cue maker. What guaranties you a better hitting cue? If it is a "one off" for you, why is it better? I've hit with very expensive Schons. I also own (for ten years) one of the least expensive Schons and use it as a break stick. There is no difference in the hit. If you want a "custom" appearing cue, then spend, spend, spend. If you want a great playing cue whose appearance may be vanilla, buy a Schon. You will not regret it! Best of all, if you don't like it, there are lots of people out there looking for a used one.
