Good luck--I'm almost certain you will love it! I just got mine in yesterday, and it hits a ton--even better than the last Schon I had. In addition, the balance makes it feel lighter than it actually is, and the cue just moved effortlessly in my hands.

Welcome to the noble fraternity of Schon lovers!

I drive by the Fed-Ex building every morning as it is next to my office... and seeing their logo gives me excited shivers thinking about the times I picked up cues there... Happens to me every morning!

I got my schon last month and it is great, like someone says, it feels a lot lighter then it really is, well worth every penny I paid for it.

I second that! What model is?

its the CX-02 model, from Shane down at Platinum Billiards in Jacksonville. the man is quite the salesman, knows how to get and keep a customer.

will probably have Chad Carter tweak the cue for me after a few days. get a pressed elkmaster tip, get the shaft down to around 12.7 mm, redo the taper a little, and replace the Black w/white specs linen wrap to White w/dbl black specs.

on a sad note, i had to bury Fred last night. Fred (named after Fred Sanford) was my cat of 16 years. he was starting to go downhill, just didnt realize he would go that fast.........:(

Hmmmmm....Not to make light of you losing part of your family......(I recently had to put down a min pin after 15 years).... but in light of your noticable streak of bad luck, and the fact that you named your cat Fred Sanford.....Did this happen to be a "black" cat???

You luck may have just changed..... ;)

I have owned many high end cues since the late 80's, from many well respected custom builders. I have always had a Schon or 2 in the stable. Enjoy!

no, Fred was mostly grey, with a little white underneath, on his neck. had another cat named Lamont, but he got killed on the highway a couple of years ago.

and as far as bad luck/rolls go, last night was just brutal. only had a few decent chances at running out, messed them all up. the last rack i missed the 9-Ball and just quit, took a shower, lit up a cigar, and watched an episode of Charlie's Angels (original series).

I usually pump some practice strokes in the cube when one comes in the mail...it doesn't look weird seriously.

Enjoy it.

Sorry for the loss, it is terrible to lose a pet....

Just be thankful you were granted 16 good years. I am a big dog person and they rarely make it into the teens.

Take Care and God Bless Fred

Congrats on the Schon......sounds like you got some stick planned for the weekend :D

Same here, after the birthday cake, but before putting a cover sheet on the TPS reports.

I've shot with a CX-03, and owned a CX-05...they both rocked. I also own an STL-01 and an LTD1122 right now. Wait a minute, did I already post all of this?

Oh, but why replace the wrap, shave it down, change the taper, and put a blue tip on it? That's nuts.

Interesting- I usually play with a cue for awhile before changing things out- tip I can understand. Good luck- schons are great cues.

the wood is much darker than what i saw on all the pics of the CX-02 on the internet, but it works for me.

going to go and hit some with it right NOW!!!

well, i broke some racks of 9-Ball, and of course the balls didnt cooperate for a long, LONG time, as usual...............

however, they finally cooperated a little bit, and i managed to run a few racks with it. of course, messed up a few too, mostly because i was hitting them a lil too hard. that tip is harder than what i like.

anyway, its a dandy, just need to get it modified slightly, to the specs i like, then it will be all good to go. even got some joint protectors with this cue, didnt realize they were included.

and i wanted to ask, now this might be the dumbest question of all time, but.............

can this stained birdseye maple have the stain removed?
