Schon R-12 Being Repaired

Well this cue was found on Craigslist and was at the end of its road, broken buttcap and beat to hell, the forearm was repaired and an ebony section near the buttcap was missing. It is getting close to being resurrected by a cue maker near me. Thinking of staining the forearm either dark charcoal or brown to mask the forearm repair or maybe use some Indian Ink to make it ebony like.

I know it not being repaired by Schon and having a Schon buttcap and yadda yadda hurts the value but it will be nice to see it looking sharp and smacking balls in a million miles an hour like Pretty Boy Floyd.

The added pc. of ebony at butt cap looks good . Maybe a smoke stain would help hide the glue line on forarm .

Nice old cue , deserves to be out there still shooting . Jim

Well, it's collectability is kind of already hurt with the forearm as it is. I'd say if it plays well, keep it and enjoy! Very neat cue.

That is what I am thinking, I know Indian Ink would hide the glue line and the forearm would look to be ebony too which matches the butt piece which is ebony. I think charcoal or dark brown will look nice but not sure it will hide the glue line. Cue plays nice still, glad to save it. I found it on Craigslist with another cue for $45 or so.

It is complete, came out nice considering the condition. You can still see the forearm repair line but all in all it is a sound and solid hitting cue. Glad to save it so it gets to hit more balls.
