Schon Runde R6 want to buy question

Hey there,

There is a guy that lives around my area that is selling a Schon R6 (Runde era) cue.

The guy wants $750 and i think he is negotiable.
the (3) shafts are wood stiched (dashed rings)
He says it is straight and that it is 8/10 condition. Probably has minor dings and normal wear.

Do you guys think it is worth it? Too expensive? Too cheap?

He wants to meet me up at a pool hall so I can view the cue, but I want to get more info and advice before wasting each other's time.

Sorry for lack of a better picture.

Are you in the LA area? This cue looks like on that was on craigslist a few months ago. He had 3 shafts and was asking $750. I think the price really depends on the shafts, as long as the butt is in good/great condition. If they are straight and 12.5-13, I would go for it. Naturally, I would lay out $650 on the table and see where he goes from there. I picked an R6 recently and I love the hit of the cue. Even though I don't have original shafts, it definetly hits nice with any shaft that I put on it.

If all three shafts are straight and true and the butt is in good condition I'd see no problem paying $750 for it.but I'd also offer $650.Never hurts to try.It sure sounds like the cue from LA on craigs list.Good luck!

If the 3 shafts are old and straight i'd buy at $750. Totally worth it. Try lower though. If you don't like it after a while just sell it, old Schons are easy.

Here is a link to the craigslist add. He states obo, so I would go for obo. great venner colors. Mine are blue, black, blue and black with a straight grain forearm. The stain and venner colors are really nice on this cue. For the dollar, I don't think you can find a better hitting cue. My R6 plays a firmer than my Runde, which almost makes me want to sell my Runde, but not quite. If you do buy this cue, I would probably be happy to take one of the shafts out of your hands. You could feel the inner warmth of kindness by reuniting two pieces of wood back together.

If it is any help I just looked at a Schon price sheet from 1986. The R6retailed for $210 and extra shafts were $45. The cue came with one.

I have a old Schon and was playing with it the other night. It is a nice playing cue.

As everyone said give a offer. The worse he can do is refuse.

Things are tight and there are not too many buyers. I would have $500 in my hand with the offer.

Yes, that is the cue in question. I remember that he indicated that there might be a warp in the shaft(s) or butt, but I can't remember.

Well, I would throw the guy a $500 offer. I think that an offer of $500 would get his the wheels going. If there are any flaws, dings, or knicks, I'll keep driving down the price.

I mean, If I show up with at least $500 and wave it in front of his face, then he would surely take me seriously. No harm of lowballing, the worse that can happen is he will throw a fit and say no. The best that can happen is that he needs cash, and agrees or throws a counter for $550-600.

I agree with the rest of the guys here. $600-750 is just about right assuming the butt is straight and at least one of the shaft is straight as well. Now if you change your mind and decides to resell it, than shoot me a pm and we can discuss it.

I think it's a great deal as long as the butt is straight. I've owned over 50 Schon's in my lifetime and I think you cant go wrong on that deal.
