Scotch Doubles is a Joke at Tornado

I wonder how many of the ones that like or don't see anything wrong with it are APA players or such. Johnnyt

Right, because you can't have an opinion without having a high level of skill, and you can't be skilled and play in the APA... got it.

Scotch doubles

I would rather play scotch doubles no coaching than alternate break and jump cues for players that cant learn to kick.

Without seeing the match, I find it very hard to believe that Allison Fisher would be lost at what to do with BIH if her male partner was not telling her what to do.

Its called fun, that is what billiards is suppose to be about. I know folks forget that, that's its only about the money, or the trophy, but my god, can't folks just go out and enjoy themselves with a game they love ??

NO! Not with a 14k purse up for grabs. Johnnyt

No one has said that any woman can play as well as SVB, Dennis or Johnny. And if any of those three were playing with a male second-tier pro, that second-tier pro should take the advice of the top pro -- except that I bet more men would let their egos get in the way instead of taking the advice.

I agree. No need to derogate these great female players. As you said, they aren't as good as the top men, but they are great nonetheless. Karen Corr made it to the finals of turning stone. They are far better players than I am and the vast majority of the people that post on this forum. Give credit where credit is due

Actually, I was referring to league players... but with the pro doubles, if they don't like it, they would not have signed up. Not sure why folks would hate it so much, still an interesting dynamic to watch double teams and who they respond to each other.

are there anymore photos of the venue and table layout? That looks like a great spectator tournament.

The old AZB go-to, don't like someone's opinions here, invoke the APA or leagues in general.

Yep, it's the old stand by. I may not like a few things about the APA (rules) but I know there are 250K folks playing pool that would not be playing without it, so that has to be good.

And in what other hobbies do you have to be the BEST. I know guys that play softball, hockey, basketball, and they all play in leagues, but they don't take crap from other folks because they are not that great. They enjoy the game, have some fun, hang out with friends, and on occasion the sink a basket or bloop in a single ;)
