Scotty Townsend Rumor

I assume you are very proud that your response got a person who asked a legitimate question banned.

Wow. People are responsible for their own actions. What Playboy said to multiple people got him banned. What did VIP do to him? Did VIP also get him banned since he attacked VIP also.

If as you say Russ did get banned because of acting like an AZ cop, would Playboy have gotten him banned? or Russ gotten himself banned?

1. Poster asked a legitimate question.

2. Russ went immediately into his troll accusing mode.

3. Original poster took offense.

Pretty simple.

I'll be giving at least $100 of it to your wife.. (wink wink)

Wow Russ, I am really sorry, I had no idea that your wife had to do that to pay back the money. My apologies, I feel for ya.

Now... Wanna throw out any other snide insults?

Russ

You really need to take some time off this board. There is never any excuse for insulting someones wife such as you have. It has nothing to do with being thin skinned it has everything to do with respect for others, you demostrate over and over your lack of respect for all with these type of posts.

When he made the comment about not giving the tax money to the wife, HE crossed the line first. It was from another thread, where I shared some personal troubles, and he used that to insult me in this thread, which has nothing to do with the problem I had with my wife.

He went WAY over the line with the tax remark. If you'd seen the other thread, you'd agree.

'Nuff said.

Scotty's prowess with the fists are very well known too.

I heard from an extremely reliable source that he fought a bear (with boxing gloves)...... and WON!

Now I remember. That came from the "Dance Monkey Dance" thread.

You left something out.

4. Original poster used that as a license to insult multiple people and the entire forum getting very personal. Those actions quickly got him banned.

Like I said, people are responsible for their own actions.

I think its way out of line to insinuate another posters wife is a whore. I mean c'mon, in real life you could get your as5 kicked for that bs. I wonder what kind of crap you spewed out to Playboy at the beginning of this thread, before you edited it.

I read the original post. It wasn't much worse than the current version, nothing personal was in it.

And it was perfectly okay for him to bring up a personal problem of my wife's order to insult me for playing cop??

But you wouldn't realize that he did that, because yer kinda getting in the middle of a conversation.. He wasn't all that offended because he knew he stepped out of line first...

Yah.. the difference was, in the original post, I strongly insinuated he was a troll, and in the edited, I said some people "might" see it as trolling.

and you were wrong on both counts, he was just asking a legitimate question. I really don't have a problem with you Russ, I just have a problem that even when you screw up completely you still defend yourself as if you are always right. It is not the worst thing in the world when you have really screwed something up to admit that you erred. The guy was NOT A TROLL, you wrongly accused him and then edited it so you were just insinuating it and you pushed his buttons to the point that he got banned. Good job jerk.

Well since you asked VIP attacked him first by saying his original post was asinine, so I would say VIP contributed also by his erroneously believing that Playboy's original post was asinine.

The truth is Playboy's post resulted in a lot of us getting incredible knowledge about Scotty Townsend. I was truly amazed by some of his Scotty's feats whether all true and accurate or not, he just may be the most amazing character in the pool world. Who is responsible for all of the colorful stories that resulted in this thread = Playboy. What did it get him. Banned. Why? Because some individuals decided to attack his question before those that knew Scotty could pipe in with even more incredible feats than biting a snake.

Was Playboy right for going off the deep end? No. Was he pushed? Yes

I think that you have some very good insight, Wayne. Although Playboy deserved to be banned for what he ultimately did, it probably would have never happened if he had not been attacked for what appears to have been a legitimate post to stir discussion about Scott Townsend.

That is probably the same reason why there are a lot of lurkers out there that only post every now and then. Why make a post just to get attacked.

From other posts that I have seen, Russ seems to be a pretty intelligent guy. However, intelligence is no substitute for common sense or decency.

Anyway...

Where did all of this talk about world record high-diving come from? The guy jumped from a bridge.... penciling into the water, not diving at all. The bet was he wouldn't jump - and he did.

How high was it? I heard it was HIIIIIIIIIIIGH. If it wasn't 150, so what I'm guessing it was WAY up there (NOT 75 feet). It was high enough for a big CORPORATION of people (educated gamblers who know not to bet on a 75ft jump) to bet against the fact that Scotty wouldn't DREAM of leaping, and he did.

If someone thinks the thread is horsesh*t, go get your cash, and I'll put Scotty in for whatever you're comfortable betting. We'll go back to whatever berserkly, unthinkably high bridge it was and we'll see who's full of it.

Most high divers enter the water feet first. Only ones with very strong wrists and mostly taped ones at that go in hands first from 90ft on up.

I never considered for more than 3 seconds going in hands first from 100ft.

My dive was a double somersault with a half twist. Basically a one and a half dive with a sort of cartwheel on the bottom. Very easy to control and land. You don't want to be short or long at that height.

As for jumping. There are many places in the world where folks jump regularly from 80-100ft heights.

One of them is down in Florida on one of the little rivers in the Crystal River area. Big ole tree everyone climbs to the top of. It's the climbing up that's scary.

I'd rather jump from 100ft into water than Bunjee Jump from the same distance with hard ground below me.
