I just posted this in reply ---in the Scotty Townsend remur thread but had a couple pms that said it has hilarious and i should start a new thread so here it goes:) :) :)

Here is a great scotty townsend story that i heard from a reliable source and suppose only scotty can tell if it true. here go's

Scotty and his wife or girlfriend ( not sure the timeframe of this but at least 12 years ago) go to the pharmacy and by some gauze and bandages.
She tapes up scottys hands and bandages scottys face so that you cant see him and also his hands are covered but he can make an open bridge.
They do this because they are going to a local watering hole where scotty is known and they like to gamble on pool there but of course no one will play him.
They go in his wife or gf gets him in a 20 dollar 8 ball game. Scotty of course is still beating this guy but the guy starts to get suspcious. Now scotty is not talking either in risk of someone knowing its him by his voice. The guy is losing everygame and talking with his buddy and saying " damn that stroke looks familiar and this guys plays like scotty townsend" At this point scotty runs out again and goes to the guy and mumble " mmmuhhmm uuumhh " and the guys says " what do you say" and at that point his wife or gf says " he said bet 40" lol

Now is that sound like scotty or what lol ,

I heard a funny story about Stevie Moore...he was on the road traveling with Bruce Berong, I believe and won some money off a guy playing 9 ball, even. He went back to the motel and shaved his head. Came back the next night and played the same guy, getting the 7 ball!

I have known Scotty for a few years now and he is always good for a laugh. I heard once at a tournament on the second day, someone saw him crawl out of the bushes and head in for his first match of the day. When asked about it, he said he lost a match the night before and didn't deserve to sleep in a damn bed! :p I have heard a lot of crazy Scotty stories, most I can't remember and one I won't repeat!!

Quick Scotty story....we had a small dive bar with 3 bar tables in it that we used to throw $5000 added 9-ball tourneys in....Scotty would always stop by when passing through...and he would be in his road uniform...a dirty gas/propane company button up work shirt...dirty jeans...and cowboy boots held together with duct tape....well one night he is sitting at the bar, PULLING HIS OWN TOOTH!!!, when a guy walks in looking for some action....Scotty said he would play but wanted to finish pulling his tooth first!....and he did beat the guy out of 2 bills

Good one Hole! I hope I get up there to your next tourn. Only been to one (July) but had a good time!

Both good stories
i just loveeeeeee to hear stuff about this guy as he is one of a kind.
i can just picture scotty all bandaged up covering his arms and face and mumbling words no one can make out and the guy says " what did you say" his wife goes "he said bet forty" lol i love it

Sounds like Scotty should write a book or have one written about him. That's some funny s***. Johnnyt

I thought he dyed his hair blonde? Or was that a different time?

Stevie has dyed his hair a couple of times, shaved his head, and several other things to fly under the radar on the road.

I knew a bald guy who used to put on a wig, the second time he went into a joint. :)

It was said, down south, that the same guy had more than one wig he could use. Maybe even come back for third's on occasions.

Nobody Knew Who He Was, Anyway

There's an AZBer that had an old Meucci sneaky pete, which had broken at the joint. He scotch taped it back together and put a rubberband around it, instead of a cue case.
He showed up for a tournament wearing an eye patch over one eye, with one arm in a sling, carrying his taped up Meucci under the other arm and using a 'walker' (which he would pickup and loudly bang down to take steps of approx. 6"-8" at a time). He claimed to be Bob Jewett when he walked in, but B.J. was already there.
None of this subterfuge worked however, as he failed to cash and became a 'bubbleboy'..... :) ( I think Sherm Adamson illuminated him)
