Want to hit up Scranton to play some and just wanted to find the best room by equipment first and then action. If it is action small stuff like races to 5 for 20 or race to 7 for 50. Any help would be appreciated:)

About LMGTFY

LMGTFY is for all those people who find it more convenient to bother you with their question rather than google it for themselves.

It was inspired during a lunch conversation between @coderifous and his friends: @tmassing, @rmm5t, @EricStratton, and @methodvon.

I did a Google search before posting this thread. The reason being is I want to know "which" hall is the best one. Apparently pool players don't write reviews for these places so inside sources are the best

A 50 minute drive down Rt 81 is Hazleton. Cue Time Billiards on 877 N Vine St. Nice room with well cared for equipment, owned by a very good player. I am sure you can get a game there.

If you want to limit to the city of Scranton proper then you will find the closest thing to a pool hall there is South Side Bowl it is a bowling alley with about 10 GCs or so.
If you wanted higher quality tables you would have to go outside of the city proper to Dickson City where you will find what was known as Cosmos on route 6 in the sinawa plaza. It Changed its name to ProShot Billiards. Proshot/Cosmos was owned by Kevin Clark and his wife. Kevin is listed on the pro circuit. Recently due to a divorce dispute it was closed. I believe both Kevin and his Wife (Carol) will be opening separate pool halls in this area. They used to have about 15 Diamond tables then I saw 4 Brunswick tables in there. I think only three of the Diamonds had procut pockets though I am not sure.

The other options around here are to go to Wilkes Barre where there is Guys and Dolls and Jack and Jills

Or there is a Bowling alley up in Hawley that has probably 5-6 tables it is very laid back up there not likely you would see much of a crowd there at all let alone action.

I went to grad school at UofS. I can't believe S.S. Bowl is still around! Every time I went there it seemed completely dead.

Yes it is still around for now. I guess the owners also own idle hour lanes on route 6 but they removed all the pool tables from idle hours a year or two ago ended up selling them for 550 each they were 9' GC2s but they all had cracked slates that were repaired.

Tell either one of them we need a room in Stroudsburg/Mt Pocono area with Diamond tables. There are no diamonds in this area. I take that back, there is 1 bar with a diamond bar box with cheap felt (plays like crap with the cheap felt). Might as well be a valley.

I agree, pool room needed with diamond tables. You would think in this area there would be a demand from pool players in this area.Times change, never thought I would have a hard time finding a pool room in my lifetime.

Proshot Billiards is TEMPORARILY closed according to their facebook page. Follow them on Facebook till they hopefully reopen.
