To whomever used buy it now on ebay a couple of days ago to buy the Mottey and Searing listed on ebay from the seller in Florida (I am assuming it was likely someone on this board). Let me know if the deals go through. The pictures were not the ones noted for the cues, and I hesitated on the purchase. I sent a note to the seller before the buy it now was over. I hope they were legit, but I had doubts, as the seller had no feedback for anything more than about $20. If it was legit, congratulations! You stole some nice cues!

no way would i touch those auctions.
actually i sleep better at night now that I cancelled my ebay accounts.

its was pretty funny to see a searing no markings no real info on the cue and one picture of one of the most sought after cues on the market right now for $1000 if it was a real searing and he put it up for auction it would of been in over $1000 in the first 20 mins these people should be banned from every where

I think that the Searing and Mottey were both sold in the first 20 minutes. I am doubtful that they were legit, but stranger things have happened. I remember about 3 years ago, someone sold a Gus on ebay for $2500 buy it now and it is in a certain collector's collection right now. It was also known by the seller to be a Gus. Go figure.

Those type of deals do come up on ebay. Not very often but it does happen.

i had contacted the seller when it was still forsale and asked for more pictures and he didnt have any he siad that was the only photo he had so i doubt this was a real searing

i think it might have been. he was selling it after a collector had passed away. i asked him for a pic and he sent me a pic with a blurred signature. it was not the same cue as the one in the auction so i think he might have just gotten confused and put up the wrong pic for the auction since he doesnt know about cues. if u look at the scruggs auction i think its actually a picture of the mottey. either way he was going to take better pics and send them to me the next day but it sold so he didnt send me any additional pictures. i think it might have been real.

Great news for a few select folks if you are correct Dank, but this really sucks for me. I passed on them before any were purchased using Buy It Now. Oh well.

No...those auctions didn't look right at all, $3600 for that McDaniel...is really weird..funny that someone actually bought it. The pics of the Mottey looks to be a RIchard Hemsteler...pretty sure it wasn't legit..just based on description. Dank, I think you looking at another auction...the one that Cuenut is referring too are from mitchel10 from Florida. He had a Mottey, Searing and McDaniel that was listed and sold. What look like a $1500 McDaniel sold for $3600, what look like a Richard Hem. sold for $1000 and what look like a very high end Searing sold for $1000.00.

The scruggs is not from the same seller if you're talking about the one that sold for $3400.00...I believe that owned by BigJohn on Az here.

Also, the best deal right now seems to be the Craig Peterson..if it sell below 3K. Check it out...wish I have the $$ for this one:

Craig Peterson

Duc.

I missed 'em

First I heard of the auctions is here. I just went and checked out the seller, and unless someone hijacked his account I think we are all gonna be kicking ourselves to the curb .....:D

At a glance, the seller looks legit and also looks to be in my neighborhood. It will be interesting to see what transpires.

The seller looks to be legit but those auctions were not...seem like someone hijacked his account, setup the auction...bid on it and then probably will try to use stolen credit card to process the deal. LOL. Man..these guys will do anything to scam the system.

Regards,
Duc.

no i am not wrong i am looking at the same auction. and u're the one looking at the wrong auction cuz i am referring to this scruggs which is sold by mitchel10:
http://cgi.ebay.com/TIM-SCRUGGS-POO...286.c0.m14&_trkparms=66:2|65:13|39:1|240:1318
as i said before this looks more like a mottey to me than the scruggs. so whoever bought the mottey, if they end up with this one for 1k then they stole it, same with the searing.

i know i am not looking at the wrong auctions because he contacted me with is actual email address.

also, like i already said, he's mixing up the pictures cuz he doesnt know anything about cues. he's selling it cuz his friend died and hes selling them for his estate.

Sorry Dank..you are correct...I didn't see the Scrugg...but these auctions are still fishy to me.....I'm really curios to know why someone would pay $3600 for a simple Mcdaniel. If it too good to be true...mostly likely it's not.

Duc.

Is it possible that whoever is listing the items got the cues, pics, descriptions, prices, etc., mixed up because they DON'T KNOW CUES.....:scratchhead:

IF that's the case someone has hit a HOME RUN:yeah:

yes thats what i said lol. cuz the picture he sent me of the searing is an actual searing and not the one pictured in the auction.

If I ask someone for pics on an ebay auction and suspect it to be a scam, I ask them to put something in one of the pics like a newspaper beside the item or something. at least then I know he has the item in front of him and isnt copying pics from somewhere else.

Almost pulled the trigger on the searing but couldnt get an answer on jason laus phone to take a ride over to check them out.
