Seattle Run

A sidenote

Lou, just a side note. Bring something warm to wear. This part of the Northwest just isn't like the rest of the country. High temp up here yesterday was a meager 58 degrees. Usually warms up a little in July but your still sleeping under a quilt at night. Just not like the rest of the county (but don't share our little secret). You're getting this from a New Orleans transplant.

58 degrees is shorts weather up here!!! Hahahaha. You'll get acclimated soon enough. I rarely even wear a proper coat (polar fleece) in the winter anymore...and yes, socks with sandals (Keens).

I remember my first time in the Seattle area...it was May and I step on the plane in P-cola, where it was 99 degrees. Got off the plane in Seattle and it was 52 degrees...I thought I was gonna turn into a popsicle!!

Now it get's into the high 70's/low 80's and we're all wiltin'.

OK, thanks, for the tip, Tommy.

lol. I remember one year up in Montana we had snow on the ground for over 100 days. It got up to 50 one day and everyone was out in short sleeves washing their car. Thanks for the tip, Lisa.

Really sad there isn't a pool hall in Seattle mentioned!!

I understand it is because there really aren't any anymore. . .

You could go to Temple Billiards in Pioneer Square. Old school building and the tables are in great shape. Ask for Rolando and tell him Jesse J from Il Terrazzo sent ya

Not the place for action but if you want a place to play in the city this is your spot. Don't bother with Belltown Billiards.. More of a nightclub and the place took a major dive after I left their House Pro position..

I'm kinda surprised too that there is no "old-time/walk-up" pool room in downtown Seattle. Last time I was there a few years ago it seemed like the perfect spot -- I just didn't have time to explore and look.

RunoutJJ, I'm not going to be looking for big action, but a little $20-40 1pocket would past the time. Soooo, I may head more towards the player's rooms. But thanks for the intel.

Hi Lou, I've been to Seattle twice. The first time I went to Manwon's place, Malarkey's, and GF. I felt like I was lucky to get action at the first two places. Golden Fleece is the better 1P action room imo.

Yea, in the next week or two. The plane's going in for maintanence and I need recurent training. The school is on Natural Bridge Road. Not sure if I'll be able to drive to the Break.

Jim

I'll be headed thataway. I'll be closer to the Golden Fleece so will probably be there Monday early afternoon, or maybe Malarkey's, (depending on which is open early afternoons). Anyone that can swing by for a few hours and wants to play some inexpensive 1pocket, let me know.

Lou, if you head down south to the L.A. area, I know a great spot for you. It's close to the beach and they always have good One Pocket and Banks action! Just the kind you like, $25-50 a game and best of all there is NO table time all day! Yes you heard me right they do not charge for table time! Craziest joint I've ever been in. The owner is a goof who claims to have been a good player once upon a time . What a joke, the guy is lucky if he can run three balls.

Like I said if you come down here, call this number and ask for Jay, (310)370-3994. He will find you a game and maybe even stake you to lunch. I told you he was a goofball! :wave2:

Manday Monday at Malarkeys

If you are looking for cheap action Mondays, Malarkeys is the place. It is Manday Mondays at Malarkeys so table time is free for men and burgers are half priced. Tons of cheap one pocket action on Mondays. :)

Damn, that's a pretty nice deal(Diamonds, right?). I'm a happy camper when I get a table opened up at the bar here in Portland. You ever come down this way? I'll give you cheap bank action if you need gas money. :p I may need a ball, though.

There is one diamond table that is for one pocket only, the rest of the tables are gold crowns that have been diamondized. Cheap action won't cover gas money to drive to Portland.

Last year I played a little banks, 8 and 9 above myself as well as a few more games with others closer to my speed. I plan on playing more banks this fall at the coast, if you want to be the first in line. If that guy in the picture knows how to play, he can have a shot at me as well. I'll probably be looking for something like 40 or 50 for 2 out of 3. Gotta make my fun-money last. :o

hmmmm. What deal, lol.

Actually though, Jay, I will be in the LA area in a few months but wasn't planning on taking a weapon with me. LA is a big area -- could you narrow it down a bit? Maybe I'll pack old Calamity Jane after all.
