Would you, Mike Howerton, head honcho of AZ Billiards and of sound body and mind (most of the time)...EVER allow Fast Larry to post on AZ under his name with your consent, approval, and blessing from now until the day you leave AZ or die...regardless of the feelings and vote of AZ members?

One answer is only required and you are the only poster that needs to say anything else on this thread....would the answer be YAY, or NAY??

I dont think this site can handle the traffic. Fast Larry is soooo contriversal that when he was posting here his threads went through the roof! I am for letting anyone back if they promise to behave. JMO :cool:

Good grief! Maybe he can play some, but he can't hold a polite conversation. He ruined the RSB forum.

He [Blackjack] just wants to hide for a while on his own site. He was attacked on another forum by the owner posting in a alais, splinterhead, who also was attacking Grady. That did it for him to learn that. He is a great guy and I am sure after a while to heal over this, he shall surely return. He is building up a very nice following now.

There are lots of very good players & some of them post on this forum. Any poster that cannot abide by the rules should be banned. If the bad apples in a barrel are not removed, the whole barrel will rot.

There are lots of posters on this forum, that derive some benefit from the different view points & opinions that gather here. The pool forums are a great way to learn about the game. You can learn the game, via osmosis over 20 years of time, or you can read about ideas & ways to shorten that process considerably.

If I have learned a thing or two in my 63 years, it is this. Everyone has an opinion & a nose. Their opinion and/or their nose may not be like mine, however that does not make them dumb or worthless. FL does not play by these rules of life. The man has NOT treated me with respect, so I have none for him.

However, if FL returns to the AZB, I will just try to work around him. Nose to nose confrontation does no one any good. My dad always said,"Even if you whip someone's ass, you probably didn't change their mind".

Yet, Mike already explained that that is a pure, harmful lie. Mike isn't spinterhands and any frequent reader could recognize that by their differing posting styles (unless Mike is a very talented liar, which I doubt he has time, talent, or inclination for---he's an active business man for Pete's sake with too much to lose).

Something to think about....

I am here basically to learn. I assign value to those giving me advice, by how much they help my game.

That's all there is to it!

I could care less about who gets into what battle with whom - and I try to stay out of these things because I am not here to cause trouble, tick people off, etc. Again I am here to learn. I read all the forums and post to all the forums.

And I have learned some good stuff from each and every forum.

With that said, I have many videos/books by some "pros" which have done *nothing* for me. In some cases I have seen them demonstrating how to shoot a particular shot, yet they leave out "some of the necessary details". This advice has not done much to help my game. (A few pros do give excellent advice, share *all* their knowledge, etc.)

FL is one who has given me advice which has helped my game tremendously.

1. He told me Jimmy Reid was an excellent instructor. (I then bought Jimmy Reid's videos and learned quite a bit from them. Best videos I ever bought. I am very grateful for this advice.)

2. He said that a player should be able to "run 3 friggin balls". This may sound silly, but it is the key. If you can shoot in a ball, then leave good position for the second, then the third... well that is all there is to it. If you can do this with 3 balls, then you can do this with more than 3 balls.

So that is all there is to it in my book. It does not matter to me if a person is an "upstanding member of society" or whatever. The question is: Do they give good advice which helps my game or not?

Well, one thing you would have learned if you were here or on CCB or RSB while FL was, is that the man is a total psycho. Whether he knows pool or not is immaterial (and I see no reason to assume he does0, he has been incredibly destructive to every pool forum he has ever participated in. Unfortunately, RSB cannot ban anyone, there is no controller of the usenet, so he sits there all day writing 100's of post totally destroying any chance of meaningful communication. He must be rich because there is no way he could earn a living and post as much as he does.
He is a very sick individual online, I can't extrapolate that to assume he is sick in real life, but it certainly wouldn't surprise me.
In the politically correct lingo of RSB, he is a friggin' armpit. Useless as utters on a bull or testicles on a cow.
Do you get the feeling I really dislike this man. I think he would very severely test Will Roger's statement that "he never met a man he didn't like."

Frankly, he can do anything he wants if you ask me.
I'm not missing FL and his flame wars at all.
 
As far as Fat Larry goes, I have no problem with him. It's people who resort to insults and ab dominum attacks that get my groat. I have no time for those people who fill their posts with vitriolic bile and outright threats. Hanging's too good for them. I'd string the bloody lot of them up against the wall and throw away the key. If Eddie Mosconi was alive today he'd be turning in his grave.

Too me, it is simple ...

I just go by the 60-30 rule. If you are NOT contributing
twice as much (60% a positive) as you are taking away
(30% a negative), then you are not worth your salt.
And we leave you 10% for the benefit of the doubt. (X factor).

Kind of simplifies making a decision, don't you think?

What in the world would make you think this is putting him on the spot? Do you honestly think he's pacing the floor back and forth trying to come to a decision on this monumental crisis? Let me tell you what Mike is doing...he's sitting back in his lounge chair in a full recline position with his little piggie's void of footwear, sipping on a cold one and watching his favorite show on TV.
(and probably laughing his ass off) (that's sure as hell what I'd be doing...give it a try yourself) ;)

JoeyInCali you said a Mouth Full that makes total sence to me. It Mike house, and he make the House rules, pays the Bills, and get to deal with all the BULL S**T. ;)
